A rewarding 2-1/2 trail ride only a short distance from the major Wailea resorts on the coast (Four Seasons, Hilton, Marriott, Maui Prince, etc.). Groups are small, which aids in hearing the guide discuss the landscape and wildlife (our group was 4, including the guide). Trails provide access through private ranch land and conservation areas; scenery is beautiful. We went... more

We took a break from the beach in Maui and went for a guided horse ride at Makena Stables. Our condo was in the Wailea/Makena area and this was the closest horse tour we could find (all the other horse ranches were further north in Lahaina). We took the 2 1/2 hour "morning tour."
