1:45am pickup is not ideal but with my daughter and niece both celebrating their 21st we began our adventure. The driver and guide were fantastic and talked most of the way giving us some great incite into this beautiful island. After a quick stop we started the climb to 10000 feet. It was freezing cold so although you are on... More

My wife and I signed up for this tour while booking our Costco vacation to Maui. I'm an experienced traveler, having worked as a tour guide in Europe for 7 years in my younger days - so I know a bit about the travel industry. Our trip to Maui this July was amazing in every way (I hope you read... More

The peaceful glide down the mountain was a marvelous time. Well worth doing as an alternative to beach and water activities. Our group had a safe and fun time.

Our family (my wife, two grown daughters and I) have been to Hawaii many times, but never to the Haleakala Crater. So we signed up for the Maui Downhill Bike Safari, and it was definitely an adventure. The Maui Downhill folks are first-rate. They provide the equipment (bike, helmet, windbreaker), lots of safety precautions, great stories about Maui, and in... More

driver picked us up@1:40 AM. stopped at their headquarters to pick up helmets, windbreakers, and breakfast (some packaged pastries and coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, which were all mediocre.) arrived at the summit of Haleakala by 4:40, an hour before sunrise. With the winds, the temp was in the low 40s. the sunrise was beautiful. finally we descended to around... More

It starts early (2am) as they pick you up at the resort and take you to their shop to get riding gear and clothes needed for the view of the sunrise from the top of Haleakala Volcano. After sunrise (0515 or there about) you make a few stops and learn about the volcano then mount your bikes for a great... More

We were told this was must do -- not sure I totally agree. Maybe I value sleep too much. It's now checked off my list! Overall - tour is a little clunky. Picked up by shuttle at 1:55 am - to watch sunrise at 5:20 am. First taken to their shop and given a prepackaged cheese horn (yuck) -- and... More

Would have liked to go a lot faster, but 35 I guess is good enough... Sunrise (it is freezing!) then bike down the volcano... great experience... mostly braking for all the hairpin turns, and some minor peddling that was inconsequential. Really, REALLY great trip, don't miss it... PS. Go with a guided tour (it booked outside the cruise line and... More

This company does not manage a beautiful ride well at all. It starts with a terrible "continental breakfast". And continues with the lousy humor of the guide. They take you to interesting sites on the volcano and the downhill ride is great. But that quality is offset by protracted waits...especially at the end where it seemed that we waited over... More

This activity was booked through Boss Frog Napili by my husband as he heard about it from his customers when he owned a bicycle shop earlier in his life. I was not sure what to expect, but I was so surprised at how great this bike ride is! It is not the sunrise ride where they pick you up at... More
