We were initially a bit leery of taking the road to Hana having read reviews of several different tours and watching a hair-raising video on YouTube. However, we decided to go for Mahalo Tours based on the Tripadvisor responses rather than one of the companies used by Norwegian Cruise Lines and are so glad we did. The Road to Hana... More

Our experience with Mahalo tours was amazing. We had stops along the way, including a very knowledgeable tour of a coffee plantation. Grant and Rich packed a delicious snack. We stopped for lunch overlooking massive lava flows. We continued our journey to active volcano. Absolutely amazing , and we were educated on every aspect of volcanos. On our journey back... More

Dangerous aggressive driver, violent threats and verbal abuse to tourists not on their tour. Be careful, Hana is a long winding road and you want a safe and pleasant driver, not what we experienced.

My wife and I were on our 25th wedding anniversary trip to Maui in June of 2013. This was our second trip to Maui; this time without our kids. We did not go on the Road to Hana tour the first time we visited Maui. There is just so much you can do on Maui and there never seems to... More

We were so glad we did this tour. It is all day, but well worth it! Makana did a wonderful job. He was funny and had lots of energy and knowledge! I am glad we chose this company bc the van was very spacious. We enjoyed all the stops and history. We loved swimming at Black Sand Beach and the... More

We weren't sure if we wanted to devote an entire day of or vacation to the road to Hana but it was worth it. We would have never been able to drive this ourselves and we wouldn't have had the wonderful experience that our guide helped create. Makana was fun, knowledgeable and kind!! The bus was so nice and comfortable... More

This was a wonderful trip to Hana. I was skeptical...You can leave the driving up to the tour guide and enjoy the beauty and history of Hana from a comfortable van. There are very windy roads so driving yourself does not allow you to enjoy the vistas when someone else can be at the wheel. This was a 12 hour... More

Our guide Makana made us feel like OhMakanafamily in Hawaiian) from the moment he greeted us. He was very knowledgeable of the island and it's history, funny and very accommodating. He worked his tail off for over 12 hours giving his full attention to all 8 of his passengers. We where a little skeptical taking this 12 hour tour but... More

We just finished a tour of Maui, (the road to Hana) with our guide Makana. Our tour was made enjoyable by our guide. He was very knowledgeable and gave us a local's perspective of his home. I would recommend his tour anytime
