First hiking company in Hawaii, started in 1983 by eccentric naturalist philosopher Ken Schmitt. Hike Maui guides are the best-trained naturalists on island. Often called "walking encyclopedias" by the press. They weave geology, botany, ethnobotany, culture and history into the fun of hiking. Waterfalls, rain forests, volcanoes, private property, national parks -- hike with the experts into the Hawaii of your dreams. « less

We were shown the 'food court' meaning natures rich harvest. We were a bit reluctant about trying the wildfruit etc but it was strange and delightful at the same time. Has a great time exploring the rock pools with our guide but please wear Reef Walkers in the pools as they are a bit slippery. More

My son's family had done a day with Hike Maui and had wonderful things to say about it, in fact, his wife rated it at the top of the to do list. I decided to take a day to see what the rainforest area of Maui was like with Hike Maui. It was a great day, I learned about plants,... More

Took this hike. Nicholas, our guide was great. Great easy hike ( I wouldn't take small children) some of the trails can be a little tricky. Not dangerous.....just tricky. Beautiful!!!!!!!!! Worth the guides because they really educate you about the various plants and make sure you see all the waterfalls. We saw three waterfall areas total. Highly recommend!!! More

I chose the all-day Hana hike. I loved the scenery on the drive and the hiking was awesome. The Bamboo forest was amazing and the swim at the end of the day was refreshing and fun. I recommend any of the hikes that Hike Maui offers, but this one was a great mix of adventure and scenery. In the booking... More

Our family wanted to see some of the rainforest and waterfalls of Maui, but didn't want to spend a day in the car going to Hana. So we booked a short hike and waterfall/pool excursion with Hike Maui. We had a great time! To begin with, our guide was so knowledgeable, he knew all of the plants and showed us... More

Hike Maui was really great. Our guide, Ray, was an awesome person, funny, and very engaging in conversation. We couldn't have asked for a better person. If it weren't for this trip I wouldn't be able to see the real Maui, and get to experience it's magestic beauty. We did so much that at the end of the day I... More

Great activity to learn about the Island and have a fun adventure. Our guide Randy was awesome, esp. with our kids (ages 6-10). He had a great way to stimulate their curiosity and interest in the things around us. Next time we'll choose the "whole day" option. More

Nick was our guide on the half day hike in Maui. We went to Twin Falls and and jumped into both waterfalls. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a very comfortable and entertaining day. Nick knew a lot of info about the plants and animals that we encountered on our hike. The hike was not too... More
