The trail and parking is across the street from the Travaasa Resort in Hana. You will need to open the gate to go through. Make sure the gate is closed behind you as there are cows that wander the pastures. Fagan’s cross, which is quite large, is 545 feet up on Lyon Hill in the pasturelands of Hana Ranch. The... More

Beautiful to look at and a great backstory honoring a great person in Hana/Maui history. If you can't make the tough hike stop and observe from the road and learn why their man was so honored by the locals

The path is steep but doesn't take long and is well worth it. You can see forever. Be sure to take water with you.

If you are looking for some exercise, this hike up to Fagan's Cross will give you a workout. It is paved but steep. At the top, you overlook the town. Read up on the history of the cross because there was no information when we got to the top.

The views from the top are incredible. You of course can see all of Hana and beyond. It is higher than it looks. Probably over 500 feet up. Cross is a lot bigger than it looks.

Start out when the sun is just starting to come up. The path is a bit steep, but the views are gorgeous. The torches weren't lit this time, but even if they aren't, the hike is well worth it for the views (and the birdsong).

Not much to look at but the views if you hike up to the cross. Not worth the stop in my opinion, you can also see it from the Hana Highway.

A short uphill hike (~20 min) through a cattle pasture lands you at the top. No shade easily accessable. Wonderful view of Hana and the ocean from the top.

The drive to Hana is long and filled with so much anticipation to "get there" that it's worth taking 30-60 minutes to actually be there and enjoy the scenic little town. No waterfalls or spectacular vistas, but quaint and green. Your circulation will thank you for getting out of the car! Pedestrian friendly.
