The views from the top are incredible. You of course can see all of Hana and beyond. It is higher than it looks. Probably over 500 feet up. Cross is a lot bigger than it looks.

Start out when the sun is just starting to come up. The path is a bit steep, but the views are gorgeous. The torches weren't lit this time, but even if they aren't, the hike is well worth it for the views (and the birdsong).

Not much to look at but the views if you hike up to the cross. Not worth the stop in my opinion, you can also see it from the Hana Highway.

A short uphill hike (~20 min) through a cattle pasture lands you at the top. No shade easily accessable. Wonderful view of Hana and the ocean from the top.

The drive to Hana is long and filled with so much anticipation to "get there" that it's worth taking 30-60 minutes to actually be there and enjoy the scenic little town. No waterfalls or spectacular vistas, but quaint and green. Your circulation will thank you for getting out of the car! Pedestrian friendly.

Nothing super cool just a cross on a hill but I guess it gives me another tripadvisor rating! Nothing super special!

nice, short walk up the hill on a paved road through the pastures to a lovely spot to take in the quaint town of Hana... so worth the walk, even in the hot sun because the breezes at the top cool you down and the views fill you up with happy inside!

What is the big deal here? You just walk up a hill for about 30 minutes to a cross made out of lava stones. Many say there are so many more incredible options for activities on east Maui and Hana Town. Yet, the trek up this particular hill may be more than most anticipate. The trailhead is directly across from... More
