If you are in Hana, you can take a short 15 minute hike to the top of the hill and see Fagan's Cross. Its a relative easy uphill hike. You can park your car right off the main road just in front of the Travaasa Hana Hotel and do the hike. The view at the top is great and the... More

We drove by the Cross and our tour guide gave us all the history and how Fagan bought and transformed the land. Great story.

It's a hike, but the views are well worth the walk. Pace yourself as it gets steep the last 1/8th mile or so... Also, at times, you may be hiking through a herd of cattle, so keep that in mind...but the cross (made of lava) makes for an interesting photo study...and the view of Hana Bay is spectacular.

We were blessed with the opportunity of actually seeing the sunrise from the cross (Hotel Travaasa gave us the key to the gate before sunrise). It was a very spiritual feeling seeing the sunrise from the east part of this beautiful island. The view of the town was amazing. Thank you server JAY at Travaasa for the recommendtion, it was... As a frequent Hana visitor I love the hike up to the top and the views are stunning (such a overused word but Hana is just plain stunning! Take your time, walk though a verdant, majestic cattle ranch and tranquility will overtake you!

Start your hike early if you go in the summer. It gets hot and humid by mid morning. The hike up is a good workout, but families can do it if you take your time. The cross is a wonderful memorial and the view is breathtaking. So worth it!

The cross is highly visible from the road, but without knowing the story you simply cannot appreciate the significance of this cross. Learn the story behind this man and what he meant to the locals to really appreciate the cross

The trail and parking is across the street from the Travaasa Resort in Hana. You will need to open the gate to go through. Make sure the gate is closed behind you as there are cows that wander the pastures. Fagan’s cross, which is quite large, is 545 feet up on Lyon Hill in the pasturelands of Hana Ranch. The... More

Beautiful to look at and a great backstory honoring a great person in Hana/Maui history. If you can't make the tough hike stop and observe from the road and learn why their man was so honored by the locals

The path is steep but doesn't take long and is well worth it. You can see forever. Be sure to take water with you.
