Loved this tour but it is an all day commitment. We used the GYPSY app for our own narrated tour and it was great. We didn't miss a site! You do need to start early if you want to see a lot and not feel rushed. Our next time we would like to spend the night in Hana so we... More

when in Maui do not pass up the chance to take the road to Hana. Rent a jeep and download the app (GyPsy) we were in awe in the sights along the way from black sand beaches, waterfalls lava tubes and pristine pools. Make sure you take the hike to the top of the falls at the 7 sacred pools.... More

1. Do not drive the road to Hana at night, as there are many blind curves, rocks as railings, and no street lights. 2. In the winter time, the sun rises at 7am and sets at 5pm 3. Get up early: 530am in Wailea –5 hours of driving, 3 hours of hiking, and 2 hours of sight seeing stops 4.... More

we startes early in the morning. it was raining but the view was beautiful anyway. it is a small road and very curvy so take care. if you are a slower driver, pull out when possible and let people pass around you. they will be thankful! you can't go fast so take your time to get to hana. bring food... There is a reason they have a shirt that says "I survived the road to Hana". The road is narrow and often restricted to one lane. Beware that not all drivers are nice or even get the phrase one at a time. Some of the locals aren't very courteous either. Be a skilled driver, take your time and use a... More

Beautiful drive if you're into nature, scenery, and rainforest/jungle. We started from the Andaz at 615am and drove all the way past Hana and around the backside with no problems in a sedan. Going past Hana and the National Park is a must after visiting the pools. We were back by 430pm. I recommend the App Gypsy Guide Hana for... More

My husband and I really enjoyed it--that said, we were in the front of the jeep with the top down, plus we're grownups. My three kids (ages 4, 6, and 9) were crammed in the back, and honestly (and this shouldn't shock anyone, and certainly isn't the road's fault) the road to Hana is really, REALLY long. The stands and... More

An absolute must for this drive is to stop at the gas station across from K-mart just as you're leaving town and get their Road to Hana CD. While it's not really the greatest CD, it at least gives you tips as to where to stop and what you're looking at. Without it, you'll pass by most of the things... More

This road is amazing. It's not a long road but it takes AGES to get around it. It is very windy and slow going but the scenery is awesome. If you plan to make it a whole day trip and start early, you can take your time and stop to enjoy the scenery at different spots along the way.
