I have flown over all the islands but nothing was as thrilling as this flight. Hann's was super friendly and his experience and knowledge made the whole flight more enjoyable. I would not hesitate to do this again and recommend it whole heartily to anyone driving the Road To Hana

We just returned home to Houston from our second trip to Maui ( 1st in 2007 ). We again started the trip by spending the first 3 days in Hana. This allows a quick adjustment to "Hawaiian time." The absolute highlight of BOTH trips was an hour ride with Hans Pieters of Skyview Soaring! THIS IS A "MUST DO"!!!! Hans... More

I've been lucky enough to visit Maui 3 times in the last few years and each time I seem to enjoy its beauty more than the last. I try my best to have an active holiday, I've done the hikes, the scuba dives, the boats, the tours, the drives, the beaches, sun rise on haleakala, zip wires and helicopters and... More

It was a gentle flight over lovely bays and rural areas of Maui that are rarely seen by tourists. Apparently, planes and helicopters are not permitted to fly over national parks, but gliders can. Hans took us up above Haleakala and soared in easy circles above it for several minutes as we took it all in (and took our pictures!).... More

I wasn't planning on doing this flight, it was a last minute type of thing, but it was truly a life changing experience. I did the one hour flight over the crater on what had been a cloudy day in Hana, but once we got above the cloudline, the views were incredible, right into the crater and everything surrounding. We'd... More

Meandering the Hana Road in May, I decided to stop by the airport. I can't help it, I'm a pilot. It's what I do. Sitting on a shaded bench beside the shack they call a terminal was a friendly looking man with a goatee, a glider club hat and Hawaiian shirt. This was Hans. We struck up a conversation, pilot... What a great thing to do. Gliding is something you should experience. Gliding over the mountains with nothing but the wind to listen to, in a pretty awesome machine is really special. Hans (the pilot) was really cool too. Add this to your list - take the road to Hana and then do this - what a day!

Daniel and i got married in Hana and stayed there for our honeymoon. On one of the days Daniel surprised me by booking a skyview soaring Glider Ride. It was the Ride of my life! It was awesome to see all of the east side of the island and get to see Haleakala from the on top. Get the whole... More

My wife and I drove to Hana (I think it's a mandate if you are in Maui). We didn't find the drive to be too bad and we agree, you need to stop along the way. One thing we did that we hadn't planned to do was to take a glider ride at the Hana airport. While coming over the... More

My husband and I traveled the Road to Hana while on our honeymoon in October. The views getting there were incredible and little did we know the best was yet to come. We arrived at the Hana airport where we met Hans. He was wonderful!! It felt like I'd known him forever. He explained everything to us thoroughly, which made... More
