If you are on the island of Lana'i, you must visit Lopa! It's by far one of the best isolated and pristine beaches on the island. I have many fond memories of this place and miss living here. The waves here can get a little choppy. Not always the best for snorkeling but fishing and body boarding are a must!... More

What could be better than going to a quiet beach, being served smoothies as we read, and then snorkeling to cool off? Awesome

Can you imagine being on the most beautiful beach in the world with no one else around? This is it. Your views will be of the island of Maui and Molakai with whales breeching in the channel. You will need to rent a jeep to get there and will enjoy other interesting and historic sites on the way to Lopa... More

chances are that you will have this place all to yourselves. There are a few picnic tables, plenty of shade, if you want it. Soft sand and you can wander endlessles along the shore or simply soak up the sun

It was a cute little beach with a lot of folks set up enjoying the beach. Fodors recommended no swimming, but we saw folks having fun in the water. We parked under a tree (lots of shade there) and ate our picnic lunch. There are porta potties there if needed.

gorgeous stretch of natural beach, including ancient Hawaiian fish pond. No amenities, no services, no crowds and no trash. Perfect

I liked the 4 wheel drive to this deserted beach. My family found it to be kind of creepy, so we continued down the road about another couple miles, and found another deserted beach that looked like it was out of a Tom Hanks movie. We had a picnic, but the water looked a bit too rough, so we did... More

Lopa is approximately the site of the former "Club Lanai" - a tourist attraction that brought visitors over by boat from Maui to spend a day at a remote beach area on Lanai. The "club" has been closed for many years and all that remains are a variety of run down buildings and a wooden pier that is in very... More

We hit Lopa Beach in the afternoon and enjoyed resting in the shade of the trees that line the beach. We had the whole place to ourselves, and watched a few turtles feeding as the tide came in. Access is on a dirt/sand road and there are no facilities once you leave Lana'i City.
