Red dirt. Lots of rocks. Barely passable trail. We rented a 4 wheel drive jeep, nicknamed it our Mars Rover, and explored Garden of the Gods. We have seen other places similar in some ways (Craters of the Moon park, Makoshika Park, several places in Utah), but never expected to find such an arid and odd land formation in Hawaii.... More

I guess lanai was just too beautiful and we had been snapping so many pictures. We did not get any good pics of garden of the gods on our first pass through, so we had an idea. We went back to the lodge, had a few drinks, charged our electronics and made it back to garden of the gods for... More

Stunning beauty in a desolate and devastated terrain that emits an uncanny spirtual warmth. Amazing profiles of soil and stone...worth the drive!

We rented a jeep and made the trek from the Lodge at Koele to Polihua Beach and to get there we drove through the Garden of the Gods. The sun wasn't necessarily cooperating with us early on as it was peeking in & out of clouds. At first the many colors didn't seem that striking, but after we made our... More

This was a fantastic experience. We had a tour guided jeep tour and our tour guide Garrett was an islander who had lived on the island all his life. His knowledge and experience of the area made the tour. The landscapes at Garden of the Gods are very unique and extreme. Terrific experience...very windy!

we took the 4x4 jeep excursion to this location. The bumps and rough terrain are part of the fun. Just, be aware of the thick red clay on the roads, I had to almost throw away my clothing I wore on this adventure (until Oxy Clean got it out). It was VERY windy so be careful when standing on the... More

Amazing place to be able to experience. A bit of a drive, but well worth the effort. The views are remarkable.

This was a bunch of rocks about a 30 min drive down a dirty, bumpy road. Not much to see. Skip it on the way to a great beach.

We rented a car to explore the island and stopped in the Garden of the Gods. Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed the unusual rock formations and views.

Take the time out of your trip, rent a jeep, and go here. IT IS BEAUTIFUL. Anywhere you go on the island is beautiful. This and shipwreck beach were my favorite. You feel like you are somewhere sacred.
