Incredible views of the canyon and waterfalls in the park. Amazing ocean views when descending. Try to pick a clear day to catch the vibrant colors of the canyon. Bring a jacket!

A must see if on Kauai. We visited the Grand Canyon in October. Waimea Canyon is a mini, greener version with a beautiful waterfall. If the weather is clear be sure to travel to the end of the road to Kokee Lodge, Kalalau Lookout and Pu'uokila Lookout. We'll worth the trip up the winding road.

My 18-year old daughter and I enjoyed the Downhill Bicycle tour down Waimea Canyon with Outfitters Kauai located on Poipu Road. We had an early start -- 6 a.m. at the store, a quick demo of bikes and helmets, and off we went in the minibus up to mile 12 of Waimea Canyon where we were given a safety talk,... More

Just go already...photos and descriptions don't do it justice! Even my teenagers were in awe and actually LOOKED at the scenery and not just their electronic devices.

Charge your camera and dump your chip. I'm not much of a photo-geek but shoot, shoot, shoot, and there is no way you can't get amazing pics of this beautiful place. Recon first time, if you have two opportunities to visit, and plan off-roads or hikes for second. I always try to think outside the box, so head to top... More

Prepare yourself to be impressed. Big, it is really big. We always stop on the way up at the overlooks and just enjoy the bigness. At the Museum you can learn stuff and buy souvenirs. There is a restaurant/cafe next door, but we never get there before it closes, so go early if you want to eat. Menu looks good.... More

This time we had a rental car and drove up. The day started overcast just like the last time we had visited by tour. This time the skies cleared, and the sun came out. What an amazing place. Having the rental car meant we could stop wherever and whenever we wanted and free of crowds!

this is my second time (last time was 7years ago) viewing Waimea Canyon and I enjoyed it even more. I think the anticipation added to that. The colors, textures, distances are outstanding. The peace and beauty add to it for me as well. I just love to stand and look, and look some more. Although the weather was quite cool... More

They call this Hawaii's grand canyon and they are right. The road up is twisty and turny and thus quite slow so it seems like a long way up though really it is not. On the way you see next to nothing are are wondering if you are wasting your time. You are NOT. We saw the canyon on a... More
