this is well worth a few hours of your time if you are on Kauai. We were staying in Poipu, and had booked a Napali Coast tour for the afternoon, so left early and did the drive up into the canyon before the Coast tour at 2:30. It's a beautiful drive up into the mountains, and there are several striking... More

This experience was totally worth the drive! I've visited the Grand Canyon and although not as breathtaking, this canyon had incredible views and had a lot more color that the Grand Canyon. The views were unreal and on a clear day this site is well worth a visit.

We drove from Lihue to the canyon. First we went to the end of the road, stopping at each lookout. Then we went to the museum to ask about a certain trail. The docent was less than hospitable, in fact, she was down right rude. However, she directed us (grudgingly, I might add) to the Canyon Trail, just down the... More

Great views. You can drive & check out the lookouts or go for a hike. Looks amazing from Helicopter too. Worth taking the time to see this in one way, shape or form.

This is a stunning view. It reminds me of the Grand Canyon (smaller version) The sun was shining through clouds the day were there. I particularly enjoyed all the colors. This is a must do for people of all ages. Not for pre-school children. May be difficult for people with limited mobility.

If you do Waimea Canyon and some kind of Na Pali Coast tour (whether boat or helicopter) during your time on the island, you will be a very happy traveler indeed. We rented a Harley from the Kauai Harley dealership and took it up to this canyon. We got the most beautiful pictures from our entire trip up here. There... More

This was a well planned trip by my Son to treat his dad. My 50th state. I had wanted to see the Garden Isle first. I was not disappointed.

There are so many beautiful stops as you make your way up this road. Don't be tempted to stop along the way, keep driving until you hit the end. It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. The Kalalau Valley lookout is stunning, but further up the road you will find Pu’u O Kila Lookout with... More

A long drive to get there but very worth while on arrival, great look out points, our coach tour only stayed for 25 minutes, could have been longer to justify the panoramic views. A must visit.
