Two rows of seating are very comfortable wicker beach chairs and getting one of them makes the movie experience very memorable. We were surprised that 1930's theater would have as good a screen and audio as this one does so, if you're looking for an evening at the movies this is for you.

Haven't been in a while as I live on the other side of the island, but I was lucky enough to win some movie passes so and glad I made the trek out to Waimea! This is a great place to catch a movie that isn't at the other theater anymore = no crowds! The theater concession stand actually takes... More

Lovely local theatre for seeing a film you might have missed on the Mainland or the see a favorite again. Great screen comfortable environment ...especially if you get there early and can be seated in one of the rattan armchairs.

My husband and I caught a mid-week early show of "World War Z" will staying in town for a few nights. It was an old theater, but I didn't notice any problems with projector or sound. They had a double billing posted for the week-end of other recent-release summer block-busters.

this theater used to show foreign films and interesting movies not shown anywhere else on the island. it also does live shows. the last time i went there it was showing the usual fare of any movie theater. that disappointed me a great deal and still does. the only theater on the west side. if you are staying there, you... Movies not as new as on the mainland but still fun seeing a flick and experiencing the atmosphere if you have a rainy night out..

Going to this theater is like going back in time to when you where a kid. You would think that you would see this place in a movie, instead of seeing a movie in this place. It only has one screen and only has about 5 showings for the whole week, but is also used for many community events. It... More

When I visited Kauai, it never stopped raining. The Waimea Theater provided a dry distraction from the rain, and was quite a pleasureable experience due to its older style. So if it is raining, and you are looking for something to do, check out the theater. Oh, and there's a great pizza place right across the street.

This Theater is a MUST SEE inclusion to your visit on Kauai! Just make sure you arrive early - 45 minutes before the show, to secure one of the sixteen extra-comfortable rattan loge seats, available on a first- come, first-serve basis... Another extra is observing all the local community members catching up with each other, before the movie starts.. it's... More

Hey movie fans! You don't have to miss out on first run movies, if you're staying on the quiet west side of Kauai. Thank goodness someone had the brains to save the old Waimea Theatre, located in the heart of little Waimea. It's what I call first rate. Lots of locals, enjoying their favorite movie treats. Get there early and... More
