This didn't seem to exciting to us but we visit the Pacific NW coast often. But I think the bus loads of people enjoyed it.
This is a great place to walk or jog, and it is a well kept park. However, don't go thinking that it is "Old Faithful"; it is a simple blow hole in a picturesque setting. Walk out the road to the west, beyond Spouting Horn, and you will get a great view back to the east of the beaches.
I didn't know what to expect when going. It was sort of interesting, from a geological and tourist standpoint. There are some decent views of the Poipu beaches and houses. But is sort of like a typical rest stop on your average American Interstate. There are a few stands to buy trinkets, but nothing too interesting.
We drove around the whole island to see the sights and this was one of those spots. It is not spectacular but it is a very pretty area, the blowhole is interesting and was performing, and its worth the stop if you are sightseeing. There are some tent vendors set up as well so buy a little local made trinket,... More
Blow holes are always a fun thing to see, worth the stop in if you are in the area. Cute little strip of out door souvenir market.
Spouting Horn is a cool natural hole in the lava along the Pacific Ocean. If you get there during high tide, you will luck out and see water shooting up through the whole pretty high. Very easy to get wet so be careful with your camera. Unfortunately this place won't keep your attention long as there is not much else... More
I was being driven past this site briefly to and from the Allerton Estates Botanical Garden, and it was pointed out to me... But I couldn't tell where to look! Maybe we came at the wrong time or I'm just blind as a bat, but I didn't see anything that didn't look like normal surf hitting the cliffs.
Spouting Horn is one of our most outstanding places on Kaui to watch waves shooting up with seawater from a natural hole in the lava along the Pacific Ocean. It is phenomenal!!!
Maybe it was a low surf day when we were there but the horn was not very impressive. The coast line is pretty to see and if you are heading that way, it's worth stopping but I wouldn't make a special trip for it. Other more impressive things to see on the island.
I was treated to quite a show today with a tropical storm causing large waves to crash into the blowhole. Lots of tourists, so get their early. It was a cool sight, something that you should definitely see when in Poipu.
