Once you get past the ten jewelry merchants set up along the sidewalk, you are treated to the ocean being spurted out of a lava hole in the shelf. We timed it with the highest tide of the day...that is important. The best thing about this blowhole is the moaning and groaning that accompanies the spout. Be sure to look... More

We stopped by on the way to our motel. It was worth seeing- but did not see any whales on while we were there. Be sure to go and see if you are in the area however I would not go out of my way to see this "attraction' as there are so many other things to see on the... More

The Spouting Horn itself is quite impressive, but there's so much else to see here. We saw sea turtles floating in the water just off the rocks...they were adorable. You could see them with the naked eye, but I'd recommend taking a small pair of binoculars on the trip as well. Whales were breaching out in the ocean and we... More

We first watched the Spouting Horn from afar and then drove down close, it was really quite interesting. When we were close you could hear the great sounds it would make.

I wouldn't drive a long way but if close by at the beach or Allerton certainly is worth dropping in.

We were there a morning when the surf was up. It really gave us a show. It was good to see that people are no longer allowed to go close to the hole. It was scary to know what could happen.

Mother nature in full form. The waves crashing and the blow spout are lovely, but the sound of the sea and air under the rock, moaning and groaning, is amazing. Watching folks paddle by on long outrigger canoes, the locals fishing with huge poles on the flat rocks, and the waves pummeling the rocky shore were all captivating. There at... More

On the way back to our timeshare, we stopped to see the lava tube spit water and chickens. It's a must see experience! The railing to watch this is large enough to accomodate many people. They have booths near the site with local crafts if you are interested. We got there in time to watch the sunset. I think that's... More

This is an amazing treat from Mother Nature....but the tide has to be just right to see it at its best. Take a chance and go there. The views are beautiful even if the spout isn't as high as you would like it to be! It's a short walk...we did it in flip flops.
