We go to Spouting Horn because our young kids love it. It is an interesting geological site with an interesting history (read about it in the blue "Ultimate Kauai Guide"). There are tons of roosters and hens and they actually nest in the trees (I have never seen that anywhere other than at Spouting Horn). We usually go near sunset... More

An interesting place to bring all of our first time visitors. Excellent place to visit the small shops to buy those trinkets and souvenirs to take home to the poor folks that could not come on the latest trip.

Many different tourist trap type of kiosk's line the park. Perfect for souvenir trinkets, but over priced. You can find similar things at the KMart in Lihue. The spout from the horn is always worth the drive out there, but double your pleasure with a tour of the botanical gardens right next door.

We stopped by on our way to the beach, and we surprised how big the blowhole was and the sounds that went with it. So amazing! Then a guy in the crowd pointed out the sea turtles that were in the cove to the right of the Spouting Horn. That was a bonus! They were feeding on the algae on... More

Liked: the actual spouts of water and how they varied each time; the scenery; the colour of the sea; the chance to see sea turtles nearby; the history of the spouts (dynamited to reduce salt spray on crops!) Disliked: having to walk past tourist souvenir stalls to get to the spout

This is a true beauty of mother nature at work. Lots of vendors and parking, right across from the Allerton and McByrde gardens both worth checking out while you are there.

Loved the little shops after we visited the Spouting Horn. Bought some souvenirs. There's a restroom, too.

Our young children thought this was amazing. We stayed in Poipu on the south shore, so was only a short drive away. Under an hour is plenty of time to experience, so combine with a few other sightseeing stops. Great photo opportunities.

Ample parking, great viewing areas, not a lot of things to do on Kauai that aren't going to cost you something. It's definitely worth the stop.
