This garden is tucked away in a beautiful valley accessible after a van ride. The $20 charge is well worth it for the opportunity to have a self-guided walk through a very special area. The docent provides guests with a map of the area and then you may choose one of 5 different paths with names like the Spice Trail,... More

Don't be fooled into thinking this is better than the self guided garden next to it. This is an overpriced bomb that you could probably walk through in less than an hour if you weren't trapped with a tour guide that drones on forever while you stand in the rain. It will waste most of one of your precious vacation... More

Nice variety of tropical plants, plus a few unique structures to view. A great afternoon walk through lush vegetation. Some of the interpretive signs were very helpful and informative. Plan on at least 1.5 hours for the walk. Wear good shoes and a hat as it is warm and humid. You will be outdoors the entire time with only shade... More

From the orchids to the stick sculpture, we enjoyed our time here. Some parts make you feel like you are in the jungle, others like a city park with exotic trees. There are many demonstration gardens that tell the history of native and imported plan species. It is really a work in progress but we did not have trouble finding... More

I'm usually just ok with this kind of thing, but these gardens were really beautiful and different. We especially loved the spice garden and the canoe garden, as well as the many orchids. I've never seen some of these things in natural plant form before. We took the two hour non-guided tour, and had a wonderful time.

We hadn't been to McBryde for awhile, they have done some amazing things that are well worth spending a few hours exploring.

I was shocked by the fee so I chose McBride (20) over Allerton (40). A mistake. Unmarked trails, poorly marked plants, nothing really to look at, and no access to the beautiful Allerton garden or the beach area at all -- McBride was way in the back. This section should honestly be free -- if it were, I'd be very... More

We opted for the self-guided tour of the gardens but the bus driver who took us in gave us lots of valuable info & direction. A lovely way to spend an afternoon. Really quite breathtaking

A wonderful afternoon in a floral photographer paradise. I could spend whole days there to get the perfect orchid picture.
