This place is really beautiful. You can spend anywhere from an hour to the entire day walking around at your own pace. Almost all the plants are labeled, and there are several different paths to get everywhere. Since it is so spacious there was no issue with crowds (our bus up to the garden was full but once we started... More

My family teen/tween kids & other relatives went to the McBryde Gardens. I think for many children - even teens, doing a self guided tour is really easier than the guided tour a the adjacent Allerton (and I think Allerton is just for teens on up). You park and then do a great shuttle trip with a helpful guide on... More

This is an incredibly beautiful place. My group took the National Tropical Botanical Garden Discovery Combo Tour . These gardens are living laboratories that support the science, research, conservation and education programs of NTBG. The gardens are celebrating more than 50 years of conservation leadership that has helped to save endangered species and works hard to preserve this very special... More

Really enjoyed the canoe garden and our bus driver was great and very informative. We did the self guided tour which was nice. The gardens are laid out nicely and I think children would definitely enjoy this garden,

Walked around most of the garden and while I am interested in plants, I'm not raving about this garden. The bus driver was very interesting, but we were on our own for the garden tour. It was a little hot and there is no waterfall in spite of the pictures. I would say it was worth the trip.

The McBryde is divided into 5 trails:Hawaiian Life Canoe Garden; Native Plant Gardens; Spice of Life Trail; Reading Palms Trail; and Biodiversity Trail.
