Food, entertainment, staff and surroundings were fabulous. We had a most enjoyable night and would have liked to have stayed longer. Definitely a must on your stay in Kauai.....

I read the reviews of people hating their indoor ballroom luau at the Hyatt and insisted when I paid that I be allowed a refund if it was held indoors. They agreed. It was held outdoors by the ocean: absolutely gorgeous, the best luau food I've ever had, among the best entertainment (music, dancing, singing & mc) I've seen at... More

Great luau that went through the history of islanders through dance. The food was very good and the history of it explained. Having it in a ballroom was awful and is a common move from what we were told. The dancers costumes should have been more authentic also.... There was plastic strings flying everywhere.

The luau at the Grand Hyatt is much better than the one down the road at the Sheraton. We saw both and I can say the one at Hyatt looks really royal - the setting is great, their gardens are nice, food is sheltered under a canapee and the food is of excellent quality. Tables are placed on the lawn... More

I read the other reviews on TripAdvisor and was cautious about this Luau but since several other luau's were already booked solid and we only had one day left, we signed up for this one. I haven't been to a 'better' one described in the other reviews, but I've been to lots of shows and performances as well as lots... More

My husband and I stayed at the Grand Hyatt on our honeymoon and chose this luau since it is on site. Looking back, I wish I would have realized how small the island of Kauai is and driving to a different luau would not have been a big issue. I agree with other travelers that the site of the luau... This luau did have that feeling of a bad wedding reception. Plastic chairs, interior courtyard with no ocean view... Perhaps our expectations were too lofty but we were disappointed and left early.

If you have been to Maui to the best Luau around in Ol Lahaina, you will be dissappointed....no water front, so no sunset, no buried pig, plastic chairs and tables, tiny shell leis ( that make the security alarms go off at the airport if your wearing them?).... But, everyone was Aloha! The maitai's were the best, the food was... More

Note - I did not go to other luaus on Kauai...so this may be great for Kauai. I'm basing against 2 luaus I've been to on Maui (Old Lahaina Luau and Feast at Lele). First off, they state there is no assigned seating but there were several "reserved" tables. Not sure how you get a reserved table but our seats... More

Quick summary: Because of the chance for rain, our luau was held indoors in one of the Grand Hyatt's banquet halls. Do NOT pay for this luau if there is even the slightest chance that the outdoor version will be "rained out." Sure, open bar is nice and the food was good (not great), but the entire event had the...
