We are amateur snorkelers and found this to be a lovely beach to do some shallow snorkeling. Parked across the street with no problems.

It was great beach for kids, you can snorkel at the shallow water and still able to see beautiful fish! The sea turtle and a seal came out to shore and it was just amazing!

We love Poipu beach park!! I ran by one morning and spotted a large turtle sleeping in the sand. The next day my husband and I were on the beach in the early afternoon, we saw whale not far from shore flapping it's tail. The snorkeling is always good at Poipu for the family.

Poipu beach park is a wonderful place to spend time. The snorkeling is good, the beach is gorgeous, and the park is clean and well maintained. There are three distinct beaches in the park--the first is great for playing in the waves and boogie boarding, the second is a gentle, more protected area that is great for kids, and the... More

Our morning here was unfortunately a bit cloudy, a little rainy and windy, but I did venture into the water and attempted to snorkel though did not see much. There was a sea turtle lounging on the sand which drew many people but the section was roped off to keep him safe. Beautiful creature. Eventually he did push himself slowly... More

Nice, clean beach. Saw a sea turtle at dawn. Picnic area, showers, nice waters. Ideal for swimming. Close to other amenities, restaurants, etc with ample parking.

Nice beach area with a couple of locations for snorkeling or just swimming a bit. However, this is a really popular beach and it becomes quickly crowded.

Lots to do nearby...surf, snorkle, boogie board, gentle pool for the little ones, playground, picnic areas and Brennecke's right across the street for lunch or dinner!

Unlike some of the beaches on the east or northern side of Kauai, Poipu Beach is nestled in between some large tourist developments in the south and is quite crowded. The snorkeling is not bad among the volcanic rocks just off the beach and the people-watching is superb. However, if you are looking for seclusion or beauty, head east and... More

Beautiful beach with the most sunshine on the island. Great snorkeling with variety of fish as well as sea turtles.
