While not the physically most beautiful beach, it's a great beach for little kids to swim without waves or current. My 3 year old loved it there. They also have great snorkeling in shallow water. 5 minutes from lots of hotels (Grand Hyatt, Sheraton, etc). Highly recommended.

We visited in January, 2015, when the water can be rough. The sheltered coves provide lots of calm waters to play, even during the winter. We didn't snorkel on this trip, but during our last we found it to be an excellent experience.

we came here to watch the sunset and we weren't disappointed. We had a great place to sit and were rewarded with an amazing sunset and even a green flash

This beach is really neat. Lots of room for people to lay out. You will most likely see roosters like the rest of the island, but a seal will be sunbathing from time to time. The beach is free, but there is limited parking so get there in the morning. Also the waves are good for boogie boards and kids.... More

We snorkeled here three times over the two weeks we were on Kauai. I'm sure glad I did it the third time because the water was so much more clear. Great snorkeling. We had failed to see a seal until our last day, then we had three. One on the lava rock, one on the beach, and one on the... More

A great little beach. Nice an sheltered and fantastic for the three kids under 10. Easy park nearby once you clear all the resorts. Some facilities around to shower and change. Lots of people on a nice day but you can see why. It is a good morning our afternoon out.

Great beach. A little rocky, bring shoes! We had a great time snorkeling here. We were able to see a Hawaiian monk seal and lots of cool fish. Also a shallow protected pool for the little ones.

This beach lives up to its hype, it's beautiful, has a protective cove for safe child swimming and snorkeling and has slightly more open water snorkeling for adults. There is a solid selection of fish to see for some easy entry, easy swimming snorkeling. My 4 year old did it for the first time and I even enjoyed it as... More

the beach at Poipu is excellent but the area with all the Resorts and shopping areas seem to be quite snooty for our taste we did like the park but I think there are much nicer beaches on Kauai.

Three separate swimming areas makes this very unique. There's a body boarding section, a snorkeling and little kid section and a section for surfers. What also makes this place awesome are the great sunsets. Beautiful and amazing!
