On the sand bar yesterday and today 2 seals were resting on the sand. This is a great place to look in the tide pools, wear water shoes! Rocks can be sharp?m

A little more crowded than you may want, unless you have small children and you want very calm waters. There are other beaches that might fit your needs better, this and all beaches are open to everyone, so you have to be on the lookout for problems. Yes, there are pick pocketers around and some people doing drugs, but they... More

We went snorkeling during our recent visit to Kauai and Poipu Beach was recommended by the guide book we had. It was very good. Here are my recommendations however: snorkel around the rocks that jut out into the ocean....and enter the ocean there where it is calm. We made the mistake of going in the ocean in front of the... Great beach for families nice natural wading area for the children, safe areas for kids to play and also a good surf beach off to the right. Plenty of shaded areas during those hot days and some good places to get drinks and food.

Would be good for kids too, nice little cove protected from the crashing waves, picnic tables, restrooms and good food just across the way

Lovely spot for easy, good snorkeling. Some fish visible just while wading. Watch out for rocks close to the shore!--Especially near the big hotel just west of the beach park. They hide in the surf.

This beach surprised me a bit as it's not very large. The grounds were covered by 11 am with locals and tourists. The sand was nice and a large reef outside the cove made for a nice sheltered area for swimming. There was also a good diving and snorkeling area. Honestly though, this place was a bit to crowded for... More

We spend almost all of our beach time on this beach. Best weather outlook, people watching and chance for whales. Convenient to snacks and liquids across the street. Nice clean place.

Our first day on the island we went to this beach to do some snorkeling. It was a popular beach, great for snorkeling, variety of fish and sea creatures to see. Saw a monk seal sleeping on the beach! Watch out for sea urchins on the reef....my husband was putting on his fins while sitting the reef and a wave... More

The six of us decided it was time for a stop on the warm side of the Island. There was a monk seal sunbathing along with many people. Lots of people in the water snorkeling, I was one of them. There are many fish out there to look at too!
