I saw the crops grown there...pineapples, papayas, mangos, guavas and also the large herd of feral pigs. The train stops and everyone is given bread to feed the pigs. The small piglets are cute and chasing each other. The mama pigs are dangerous. Wonder if the daily fattening of them makes for good luau fare.

This place is very enjoyable. To hear about the history of sugar cane on Hawaii, to see the railroad, to take a train ride and see the different kinds of plants and animals was so relaxing and fun! But also remember to go for the Rum tasting ... oh yeah! That's right rum tasting. Learn about why the rums have... More

We enjoyed the railway tour prior to attending the luau. It was very interesting to see and learn of the different varieties of fruits and plants grown at this working plantation and the fact that cosmetics companies also grow plants there for use in their products. Learned a little history and got to feed some pigs too!

This was a nice excursion. The grounds were amazing. If you are into trains, this is for you. There were little shops to stop at, which were interesting to see. Staff was great.

Really fun train ride around tha plantation, lots to see & learn, good guides, great attitude. Lots of history packed into a relatively brief tour. Restaurant on site is REALLY good, great food, service, a must do for lunch after the train ride.

We booked a coach tour and as part of it was a stop at the Plantation Railway. This had actually been a former sugar plantation but now is an attraction with a railway running around the outskirts of the plantation so that everything on the inside can be well seen. There were sections of everything from sugar can to mango,... More

We did the 4 hour train, hike, orchard tour. Before getting on the train you meet you hiking guides. Our guides were Jason and Mango Jordan. On the train you get a narration of the different variety of fruits while passing by them. First stop is to get out & feed the pigs, goats, sheep & of course the chickens.... More

This was a nice little train ride. I wouldn't advise taking it before you go to the luau (if you're doing both). I felt rushed to get on the train as it was boarding in 2 minutes. When we got off the train we had 10 minutes before the pig ceremony happened. Rushed to stand in a long line to... More

My teenagers were bored. Well priced at $18, but most suitable for young children. The plantation house is not open for tours like the ones in the southern US, instead parts of it are accessable because it has been converted into shops and a restaraunt. The last train runs at 2pm and there are no rum tastings available afterwards. (The... More
