The Punua Family has done this show for close to 50 years! We had friends stay with us at the Marriott Lihue and this show is available just one night. We skipped the plated dinner and just bought a ticket to the entertainment which is presented in the incredibly beautiful inner courtyard gardens. This how includes traditional hula and modern... We enjoyed both the show and the food. The food is served 2 hours earlier than the show at Kukui's. Chairs and stage were set up in the courtyard area of the Marriott for the show. The price is moderate for a luau. The show included the expected hula and dancing with fire. The family in the show is definitely... More

This is not a traditional luau experience as advertised. Upon arrival we stood in line only to be seated in one of the hotel's restaurants and served a preset and average menu at our table beside the sidewalk and the pool. Once our family completed our dinner with no description of culinary or historical luau tradition we were directed to... More

We were purchased tickets for the show only due to the previous comments on Tripadvisor! We were told to arrive at 7:00 p.m. stood in line until they opened at 7:30 p.m. the introduction was slow, singing was poor - Tiny Bubbles were terrible! When the dancers were presented the show picked up and was good. It lasted a total... More

We attended the luau in late January and had a great time. There were vendors on property to buy local goods and I found them to be very nice. The buffet was good with plenty of options. The drinks were great....Blue Hawaiians!! The show was more of a theatrical performance but it was good!! Had a great time!

This is not a huge Vegas-style production. There were ~100 people attending when we were there and it is clearly a show run by a family (their 3rd generation of the show) that loves to share culture and history with visitors. The heart and spirit of the performers and audience contributed to the production and made it all the friendlier.... More

This was such a great alternative to a luau! The show was excellent--good music, talented dancers, and the keikis were so cute! Really loved the fire dancers, too. They only do this show on Monday nights, so be sure to plan ahead to attend. They take a photo as you arrive--I asked the photographer if my eyes were closed, and... More

I can't imagine why anyone would give this show anything less than an "excellent." It's a family run show that has entertained many celebrities, including John Wayne, for decades. You can't beat that! The master of ceremony gave the audience a very genuine welcoming, explained a little history of Kauai and introduced his nephew and son, two musicians in his... More

This is not the spectacle you may get at the larger, buffet-style venues. But the performances are authentic and the setting is much more intimate. If you are staying at the Marriott, it is not only convenient but just a great way to absorb a little Hawaiian culture and appreciate the beauty of the islands and their people!
