We visited Wailua Falls in the morning and got some nice pictures with a rainbow in the mist. The sound of the water going over the falls is awesome as you are close enough to hear this. The drive down the winding, narrow road is well worth the effort. This is a must see while visiting Kauai!

About a 15-20 minute drive off the beaten path but well worth it. The road to the falls is narrow so be careful. The viewing area of the falls has very limited parking but people don't stay long so you'll be OK. You see the falls directly in front of you and can hear the roar of the water flow.... More

but seems they discourage the walk down the falls now. You used to be able to go behind the falls and experience "quiet time" (no sounds in or out. Some people still find their way down there.

So worth the 15 minute drive off the highway although parking is extremely limited. We traveled there on a fairly overcast and rainy day so there weren't a ton of people wanting to hang out long so we found a spot to park. Despite the rain and clouds, we had a great view of the waterfall. As other reviewers have... More

we dove to the site but signage in hi is minimal so of course we missed the turn.we made an illegal turn and found the proper road.it was an 18 mile e ticket.one turn after another.there was no speeding on this road .speed mostly 15 to 25 miles per hours with different view sites and cutoffs before arriving at the... This winding road leads to a beautiful site. Be camera ready . Parking is tight so pack your patience. It is unlawful for vendors to be there so avoidbuyingtheir goods . Besides they are occupying prime parking spots making for treacherous maneuvering at this site

While the road up to the falls is not a freeway and there is precious little turn around space we enjoyed the over look. It is really something to look down on birds and the fly around, in and out of the mist created by the falls. While watching the falls a wild sow came out of the tall grass... More

One of the few waterfalls on Kauai easily viewed from the road, a stop at Wailua Falls is well worth your time. We were somewhat disappointed at its distance from the road, but we were still thrilled to see our first waterfall on Kauai.

This is easy to get to & because of all the rain it had become one big waterfall! If you are lucky as I was there will be a local selling homemade mango bread.

Our evening was planned for the luau at Smiths Tropical Luau but with time to spare we trekked out to Wailua Falls. Gorgeous sight, beautiful memory. It is out of the way but with it
