This place can get crowded and the road in can be a bit of a challenge. Once you get parked, it is an easy walk to view the falls. I did not see any trails from here, so really it is just a small road and a pretty view. In the morning, a rainbow forms across the waterfall and it... More

We have come to these falls twice. We came on each visit to Kuaai. It is nice to see, but we did not find them to be spectacular. There must need to be a very lot of rain for them to be spectacular. Perhaps I am just spoiled by the many beautiful waterfalls here in Canada, especially the ones in... More

All waterfalls are beautiful and you get a decent view of this one but what you want to do is experience a waterfall not just look at it. You can find lots of waterfalls on Kauai that you can swim under and that's fun. Try a kayak trip to Secret Falls or a easy hike to Ho'opiki Falls. Both relatively... More

Free attraction that is in the town of Lihue, HI so do not think you have to drive to Wailua to see it. Look for the green sign off the main highway, turn off and drive all the way down a two lane road about as far as you can go towards the mountains. There are some places to park... More

Wailua Falls is the waterfall featured in the few opening minutes of “Fantasy Island.” It is beautiful in the show opening and is even more stunning in person. It is generally a double waterfall but is sometimes a triple or a single depending on the amount of water flow. It is very accessible and is close to the viewing area... More

These falls are definitely pretty but nothing especially unique. This is just a quick stop but I would be willing to return to see it under different circumstances since it seems the falls appearance can change.

I have been to Wailua Falls when the water is flowing like mad. I have also seen it when it is just a trickle. Both are exceptional, but I do prefer seeing it flow.

The parking was easy and the signs off the road made this an easily accessible waterfall. Wonderful pictures and a nice guy on the side of the road weaving leaf-hats. Worth the quick stop!

Well, I guess if you live amongst throngs of waterfalls, you might begin to rate them as above or below average, but for me, any waterfall is a unique privilege to see and this is no exception. We observed from the rail and then crossed the street to look over the bridge down to the Wailua River and its surrounding... More
