Puakea is a fun course to play. The fairways on some holes are narrow, some require you to shape the ball and some reward you if you can drive the ball over the hazards. It's not a course you can just go out and bomb drives. Playing it requires you to use some strategy to shoot a decent score. There... More

Best to go after 11am as price drops appreciably . New carts but no GPS, tees, or towels. Well laid out. Course was in good shape. The restaurant/ grill not all that great. No drink cart.

This was by far the most difficult golf course I've played on. Did not realize the difficult of this course till after playing and did some research. I usually hit <100 from the blues, but this course I shot a 121. 66 on the first 9 holes, and there was barely any wind! The course itself is not forgiving, very... More

I have been golfing this course for 10 years. I do not know what is going on but the maintenance has definitely gone down hill. The views are still great but they need to get everything under control.

Great course, good condition, challenging layout and beautiful scenery. Best value course on Kauai. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Limited F & B as Club House is yet to be built!

Chose this course based on good reviews and the very reasonable $65 rate after 11AM. Drove in from Princeville and arrived a little early (about 20 minutes). We don't usually hit practice balls so inquired if could go out early as there no players ahead of us or waiting. Answer--NO unless pay another $20. So we waited! Course was in... More

Years ago I golfed at Puakea when it was 10 holes and thought 9 holes would be perfect for our foursome (2 teens, mom and dad). We decided to get a 3 o clock tee time since club rental is $15 each and had an ad in Alamo drive magazine (Dec to March 2015 issue) that says $35 9 holes... More

This may not be the prettiest course on the island but it is the most interesting and challenging. The par 3's required precise shots but are fair. The par 4's are fair and often involve negotiating sand and water. It is also a straight forward course with room to let the shaft out. There are no surprises as is the... More

We played this course @ 11 am. Windy day but the course was in good shape. The people in the pro shop were very helpful with our rental clubs and reservation. We were paired up with a nice guy from Oregon and our skill levels matched pretty well. Driving range and putting area were close to the course and in... More

I discovered Puakea Golf Course while out walking one morning from the Marriott Kauai Resort. The course has a great view of the mountains and is a solid, enjoyable golf course. I rented clubs and the Pro Shop paired me up with a couple of great guys. I found the price reasonable and the course in good shape. The Pro... More
