This golf course has a lot to offer, several tees to choose from and forgiving landing areas for the most part. The views and terrain are wonderful and all this comes at a moderate price.

After golfing at Puakea for 4 times, I thought I would finally write a review! The golf is outstanding, but the customer service was the best! They always go out of their way to make our golfing experience a nice one and we really appreciate it. We will keep coming back when we visit Kauai.

Just because the cost is lower at this course, don't equate that with a less than great golf experience. Many reviews mention the Costco sighting--believe me, the course more than makes up for that on almost every hole. Both nines feature wonderful mountain scenery and the back nine adds some significant water to the course. My brother and I, a... More

Aloha! We just completed nine holes of golf at PuaKea Golf Course. This is a small course near the shopping mall in Lihue. Lots of hazards, this is a perfect course for those who are practicing several different shots and clubs. The course is a little rough with some fungus growing on the greens but a very pretty setting. The... More

Puakea is a fun golf course, and if you use one of the many coupons available to get a greens fee discount, it is a great value. You might be a bit put off by the highly visible Costco on your way to the clubhouse, but get over it. The course has some wonderful holes, offering all of the golfing... More

Today was the first round in Kauai and as is my norm, I played Puakea. Each time I play the course I remember how much I enjoy it. Most of the fairways are nice and wide, with plenty of room for the errant shot, but you still have to be careful. Well placed bunkers can catch you when you least... More

This course is not the best on the island, but it is beautiful and if you look for the value price times, it's worth it! The fairways are forgiving, and the par threes are challenging. Club rentals are quality for a value price and if you have a later flight, it's perfect to play the afternoon value round before you... More

They charge A LOT to golf here and are a little upety and snooty to boot. The cost is around $89 AND they charge a $20 rider fee...crazy. For that price you would think that they would throw SOMETHING in besides an attitude of superiority. The course itself is nice...well manicured grass but you just don't get the ocean views... More

Nice wide fairways for errant shots. I hadn't hit a golf ball in 6 months so I appreciated the generous landing areas. The front nine seemed relatively ordinary except for the downhill, into the wind sliver of a green par 3 (#6 or 7). I hear the back nine is more exciting but did not have the time. Extremely friendly... More
