First class, great rum tasting and very interesting. Koloa Rum has some of the best rums anywhere. The tasting events are well run and entertaining. Generous pours of several of their rums. Yes..you can buy Koloa rum at Costco, but this experience let's you try many of their rums. Would highly recommend!

I assumed there would be a tour of the bottling plant similar to a beer brewery, but it is just a gift shop and tasting room. Still, the employees are all very nice and very informative. You must be 21 to enter the tasting room, so not a good stop for families unless someone wants to stay outside with the... More

Its ok. We did the tasting, and walked around. I think they need to add a couple more rums to taste. did not get a good feel for what they had to offer. They guy doing the tasting was funny and good at this job. Just think they need to add change it up a bit.

This is a fun rum tasting experience. The setting is picturesque, on the old Koloa Sugar plantation site, and the 1/2 hour tasting is lively and informative. While you won't see the rum-making process, the free tasting is led by an energetic young woman who gets you in the party mood as you take shots of dark, gold, spice and... More

The Koloa Rum Company Store features a wide variety of rum products and a tasting room that hosts tasting sessions every half hour. The tasting was fun, informative and helpful in deciding what to buy. Koloa Rum contains the finest local and natural ingredients including locally-grown cane sugar and clean, fresh water from Mt Waialeale. Unlike many commercial rums today... More

We stopped here just because we'll try any tasting that's free. I am not a rum connoisseur but I could get to like the stuff after trying nearly all they had to offer. The bar keep started by pouring two of their rums and demonstrating how to carefully mix them to make a Mai Tai. He also explained their production... More

This was a great unplanned stop. We actually went to the plantation to take the train and grab lunch, then discovered the Koloa Rum Distillery on the plantation. It is worth it to sign up for the rum tasting, since I would have never thought rum could taste so good. They served us a Mai Tai shot (which was layered... More

We stopped in for a second visit to Koloa Rum Company this year since we had so much fun last year. The bartender enthusiastically explained each offering, and led us through making our own miniature mai tai. We picked up a bottle of the coconut rum, and mixed it with pineapple juice for an easy pina colada. I don't like... More

We stopped by here on our way back to our hotel and we're pleased and surprised to find that the rum tasting was complimentary! They have tastings on the hour between 10am and 2pm. You need to show up and sign in for a particular tasting. Our server had the energy of about 4 people! She was so awesome and... More
