Great place to stop in when you are in Kauai. Located next to Gaylords on the Kilohana Plantation, they truly make some o f the world's best rums. They have free tasting (for those over 21). They also have a great gift shop.

We stopped here because we were finally in Hawaii without the kids and have always wanted to try. WOW! The rum is sooooo good and the girl behind the bar was hilarious! We had so much fun we didn't want to leave. The coconut rum is a little pricy but soooo worth it. Will for sure be back

Very good rum cake and rum samplings. The rum is made from Hawaii’s sugarcane and the mountain waters of Kauai. There are five rums: Koloa White, Gold, Dark, Coconut, and Spice Rum. The rums make an excellent and smooth mai tai cocktail.

The Koloa Rum Company is worth visiting even if you’re not that much of a drinker. You sign up for the free tasting in the gift shop, and as you wait, you can check out whether anything interests you enough to purchase after the tasting since you don’t necessarily want to be laden with bags inside the tasting room. I’d... More

Two words "Tourist Trap"!! Buy your rum at Costco less then a mile away. This place is triple the price for the same products. All other merchandise is priced at least 25% higher then anyplace else on the island. Heck it was more expensive then our resort.

The actual rum area is only a small part of the whole thing. There is a luau area, Kilohana Plantation, Gaylords Restaurant and a small tour railroad. The rum is good, the tasting is very small you only get to taste a few and very small portions so don't go thinking you will get a lot of free rum. Also... More

Such a fun activity. We tasted 5 kinds of rum plus a rum cake and the staff in the tasting and store were so lovely. Great rum! Definitely check out the mai tai in the plantation lounge after - best on the island.

Stop!!! Before you do anything else, go to the table on the right side of the store and pick up as many rum cakes as you can carry. Trust me on this .. don't get sucked in to the rest of the store, ignore your wife as she meanders to the flavors and knick knacks, get the cakes. She'll forgive... More

This place is part of the complex that includes the Luau Kalamaku venue, the Kilohana Plantation (with cute little railroad), and Gaylord's Restaurant. The rum here is really, really good. They offer free tastings on the half hour, and you have to sign in (and show ID of course). The server provides small tastes of their various rum flavors, but... More

This is the best deal on the island. It's at the Kilohana Plantation on the main road near the Kukui Grove Mall. The free rum tastings are on the half hour and you have to sign up a few minutes ahead and provide your drivers license to be admitted. The history and production process of the various rums is deftly... More
