Two friends and I recently visited the Smith Family Gardens and Luau, and it was a wonderful experience. It was my first luau, but I heard comments upon leaving (after the show) that this was the best luau they had ever been to. The food was very tasty, the grounds were beautiful and clean, and the performers were great! We... More

The Smith Family do a good job at presenting a Hawaiian luau. The grounds are very pretty and well taken care of. We took the tram and then watched as the two young men unearthed the pig. The buffet was very tasty, pork was so good!!, they also had many different drinks to enjoy. The show after was also well done. My... More

People at the Smith's Family Luau were personable and provided a welcome and relaxed feeling throughout the Luau. The pork was outstanding! They provided a good selection of juice, island beer and mixed drinks in ample supply. All the rest of the buffet was quite tasty with many different dishes to suit most anyone's palate. Deserts were great and they... More

This Luau was very nice, we went early and did a tram ride around the plantation and watched them uncover the pig they cooked in the ground. Then we had a great buffet of Hawaiian dishes with and open bar of beer and Mai tai's. After that off to the show, which was very good too, But I did get... More

The grounds - which they call the "Tropical Paradise" - is well kept, full of wandering pheasants, peacocks, swans, and chickens - and beautiful overall. I would imagine many people would like it for weddings or at least wedding photo sessions. The staff was pretty attentive and engaging. No issues with the service. The food was mediocre and only a... We did a tour where you can go and see the fern grotto prior to the luau. I enjoyed the boat ride and the short walk to the grotto location but I felt the tour guides and the people doing the entertainment lacked friendliness (no smiles and seemed anxious the get the tour over with. (Maybe because we were on... More

As you arrive, you are warmly greeted and presented with lovely leis made of small seashells. Next, you may board a tram for a short tour through GORGEOUS gardens. Be sure to have your camera ready! I highly recommend also walking around the grounds as they are not to be missed. Next is the emu ceremony when the pig is... More

I recently went to the luau with my wife and my parents. While you aren't on a beach the setting is very nice and food quite good. Go early enough so you can walk the grounds before dinner. There is a tram which quickly drives through the gardens but it was difficult to hear our narrator and they go too fast.... More

We visited this luau during our visit to Kauai. It was $80 when reserved online and considering the price of other luaus it was definitely worth the money. We had plenty of time to explore the beautiful gardens, the food was good (except for the poi! The teriyaki beef was excellent!) and they provided live singers during dinner. The post-dinner... This tour, offered by Robert's Tours of Hawaii, took place on the next to last night of our (my wife's and my) 7 night Hawaiian cruise, and this was, by far, our biggest, and really our only, disappointment of our Hawaiian trip! When we arrived, we were herded to a tram that took us on a quick tour of the... More
