My family and I (4 total) went to Smith's Luau. While the food was okay, the show is a poor excuse for a luau. Uncoordinated, bored dancers, occupied the stage. They lacked enthusiasm and skill, making several show goers walk out halfway through the show. This spectacle may be interesting to the first time goer, but it's a true insult... More

We enjoyed the gardens and the river boat tour also. The show after dinner was very good. A nice time for the price if you are into luaus.

I love that this family has a history here, and they share it with you. The food was good; it was a treat to see them pull the pig from the pit. The entertainment was great. It is set in a garden, so that is a definite plus. I haven't been to another luau, but this really was very nice.

Absolutely loved this Luau. Go early so you can walk the gardens which are very nice and great opportunities for Kodak picture moments. When you hear the sound of the conch shells being blown, it is time to unearth the Kaulua Pig in a wonderful ceremony honoring the ways of the past. The dining area is a large open air... More

We have been to Old Lahaina Luau in Maui and one at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Oahu. The former was perhaps the most authentic to Hawaii itself (there was no haka dance) while the former was almost Vegas-like in its production. Based on other TA reviews, we knew we were not going to get the same at the Smith... More

The experience is fun. Definitely allow yourself time to walk in the gardens, attend the unearthing of the pig. They were so organized, the lines for food were short, and it was easy to find a seat. The food was great! The show was ... interesting. There were parts that were really hokey, and parts that seemed not to fit... More

This is the fourth time I've been to a Kauai Laua. Each has it's own special "flavor", not to make a pun. There are small ones that serve much less people, and larger ones that can accommodate the tour boats. Perhaps this one is large enough to also accommodate a tour boat. It is the grounds that make Smith Paradise... More

This is a large operation. However, it is very well run, a beautiful place, and the help was very welcoming. Bottom line, we enjoyed our time there a lot. This being our only ever Luau, the food was great and plentiful, as were the beverages, served buffet style. The Imu ceremony was pretty neat, I was impressed by the "fall... More

Because we got a little lost, we weren't able to enjoy the gardens as we would have liked; what we did see was gorgeous! (Tip: Leave early to get there, as one of our apps couldn't find the location). Thankfully we had reserved seats, because it would not have been easy to find six seats together due to the amount... We decided to go to this Luau in a 3 family group including 5 young kids based on good reviews etc. We were greeted at the front entrance with very helpful guides and given each a shell Lei and then guided down some paths to a photo shoot. They actually had us as separate families sitting at separate tables but... More
