I was always afraid to ride horses. Russell the gentleman who was the guide for our small group was so friendly, protective and nice. He gave me one of their best horses, the whole ride was about 2 hours, the view was breathtaking and the experience even better. More importantly, I felt safe.

We have been wanting to do this ride for years and finally put together 5 family members, several who have never ridden a horse. We were given an instruction video and I assume were matched with horses that were appropriate for our skill level. Our guide Cody, kept a close eye on everyone. Some of the horses took advantage of... More

Had a great time with my wife and kids. Great views and very friendly staff. The trail eventually goes down to the beach and you some great views of the waves hitting the shore. I do wish we had more time on the beach. But overall, was still a fun time.

Stable is located at the end of a dirt road which opens to breathtaking views. We thought it was going to be amazing! It was the opposite. I agree with Alexandra, not impressed! The greeter was rude to the guests upon giving instructions. We all went into the office in groups as to settle the balance due and get a... More

My family and I were not impressed with this tour for the money we paid. First of all, the "secret beach" and lunch you're given is maybe a half hour, 45 minutes tops. You barely have time to eat let alone explore the beach you rode all the way out there to see. The horses are poorly behaved but if... More

My husband and I loved the 2 hour beach ride led by Marcus. It was his first day out and he was a natural. He was very attentive and in a quiet self possessed way led us all on a beautiful ride. The trail was varied and spectacular and Marcus pointed out things of interest and since he was Hawaiian... More

My kids and I went on the Mahaleapu Beach Ride (CJM Stables) and were very happy with our choice. We were staying in Princeville, and while there horseback riding opportunities closer to the resort (like Princeville Ranch), the drive down to Poipu was well worth it because of the spectacular views of the coast. We had tried to book the... More

You’ll want to take it slow when you drive to CJM Stables – the access road is unpaved and pot-holed. The horse ride, however, was well worth it. After check-in and horse assignment, we were off on the approximate two-hour ride through diverse terrain – fields, hills, a small wood, and coastline. Yes, the ride is nose-to-tail, but that suited... More

At first, I only signed up the family to go on a horseback excursion because my brother requested it as something to do while we were on the island of Kauai. Never did I expect to enjoy it so much. I'm really not one to connect with nature or animals, and as a mother of two younger girls, I have... More

After reading several reviews of all the other rides on the island, we decided to use CJM and we were not disappointed. The ride was along a beautiful coastal trail and we saw some awesome cliffs and beaches. Russell, our guide, was very knowledgeable and friendly and attentive to everyone in the group. My two 9 year olds absolutely loved... More
