My son and I walked part of this trail from the Grand Hyatt to the west, from Shipwreck Beach heading towards Poipu Beach Park. We didn't make it all the way but enjoyed the views along the length that we went. The lava rocks are beautiful in contrast to the ocean. Definitely worth exploring farther. We also inadvertently traveled parts... More

We did the trail twice from the Hyatt where we stayed. We went 4 miles out the second time to a point that just takes your breath away with its beauty. We wanted to keep going and the next time we come back, we will plan an all day adventure. The views are just spectacular.

After spending time at Poipu Beach, we decided to follow the signs to "Old Koloa" Town. Its a nice trip back in history. One find was a super hamburger for under $2. You have to walk down to the end of the storefronts and around the corner, but the food was wonderful and priced way below Hawaii standards. Plenty of... More

I picked up the brochure for this. It has the map and explanatory notes on the back. I walked part of the trail down by Shipwreck Beach and cycled on the old cane road from Koloa to Poipu. If you have any sense of adventure or interest in the Hawaiian culture and history, don't miss this. It doesn't cost a... More

We did this trail almost every single day. Easy to walk along the ocean and gets you to all the main resort areas and if you keep walking you can go to Poipu beach. We really enjoyed seeing rainbows along this trail.

If you don't want to do a long walk. Walk the hapa trail from Poipu to koala town. Stop for lunch and walk past library to new bypass road then down hill to kukuiula shopping center for a shave ice or ice cream, then back to Poiou Beach. Takes about 4 hours. See beautiful mountains, old Hawaiian irrigation system, goats,... More

I personally could not do this walk. I tried it from Spouting Horn and again from Moir Gardens, but was not able to do it since I just did not enjoy walking on the side of the road with no sidewalks and only seeing houses for a long length of time when the sun is so hot. It's probably okay... More

Nice walk if you are looking for some exercise. You do have to be careful in some areas, face traffic as road is narrow. Good bird watching along the way also.

This hike was recommended to us by our hotel and I wish I could tell everyone to take it. It was beautiful with stunning views of the ocean. The trail is basically unmarked foot paths that seem to go in all different directions but all pretty much get you to the same place....Mahaulepu Beach. It think it is a five... More

It's free, fairly easy to follow (though the route sometimes ends inexplicably - signs will follow explaining the many landslides), and worth an afternoon. You pass ancient sacrificial grounds, some red rock cliffsides, some great rocky shores, and limestone crags.
