This place is really over-rated unless you want to study exotic trees. The teak trees took up a great deal of space and I got tired of looking at tree trunks. They are doing interesting experiments with introduced species. We took the 3 hour guided golf cart ride which was at least an hour too long. We were expecting beautiful... More

Our visit to this north Shore garden exceeded our expectations. We reserved the Stroll & Ride 3 hour guided tour which included a golf cart type ride through the extensive gardens with plenty of photo stops for a closer look at flowering plants, birds or the unique bronze sculptures found throughout the gardens. We also had time to walk by... More

We visited Na Aina Kai in early March and took the Family Tour with tour guide Teal (sp?). It's not easy to visit a garden with two preschoolers and this was fantastic! Teal was so kind to the kids and got them engaged right away with bags to collect items that she pointed out were okay. Lots of exotic things... More

We took the tour that included riding in a small tram. Glad we did, it was a hot humid day. This was our 3d time here. Others on the tour had been here before too. Didn't matter, there were many new items. Ann, our Volunteer guide, was great. We saw so much. Learned a lot too. Beautiful trees and flowers.... More

According to friends that have toured all of the gardens on Kauai, these are the best. I took the tram and walk tour that lasted about 3 hours and it was wonderful. Our tour guides, Barbara and Rick, were fun and informative. We saw so many varied gardens, but evidently only touched the surface of all there is to see... More

Went on the Stroll and Walk tour. Cost was $50 each. The majority of the tour was on the expanded golf cart. I really would have liked to walk more. We seemed to be getting on and off the cart, drive 20 feet get on and off again.. wanted to just walk and enjoy the fresh air instead of smelling... More

We toured these gardens recently with a very knowledgeable guide. The area is quite expansive with sea views, baby albatross, childrens garden, and whimsical bronze figures. It is not so much gardens, but experiences. There are large stands of trees and plantings of native trees and plants. It is amazing what these private owners have accomplished over a lifetime! Quite... More

This is a great tour to take for a look at Hawaiian plant and animal life. We took the Stroll and Ride Tour for 3 hours -- and the time flew by. The garden is lovely; the guide showed us some baby albatross in their nests; and we saw many bronze statues of whimsical children and animals. It was well... More

The property is very large and varied although quite a bit is a tree plantation. You are driving around in small groups. The tour guide we had was quite knowledgeable and entertaining. We enjoyed the tour but our preference would be for the National Botanical Gardens - on this trip we visited the nearby Limahuli Garden.

There are different gardens with themes and a formal garden as well as a ocean viewing area where in the winter Albatross visit. It is well worth the $ for a ride or stroll, always with knowledgable docents. I highly recommend!
