Kealia beach is just north of Kapaa. On the beach there is not much shade but there are gazebos back of the beach area that are perfect for a picnic. The water and currents can be a bit rough so be cautious with children. it is a surfrs beach. There is a great bike and walking trail that leads north... More

My husband and I had an awesome time boogie boarding here! The waves were awesome! Although I would not advise sending your child out there alone if they don't know how to swim or aren't used to the ocean. There are lots of families around during the day. The beach is beautiful. It's nice that there aren't hotels infringing on... More

Beautiful pieces of drift wood lay just past the sand among the rocks. Very cool rocks, by the way, never see such patterns and colors. This beach would be a fantastic spot for a picnic or a relaxing day!

The beach is beautuful. Popular among locals and surfers. Seems like a good place for the beginner surfers, seen kids getting lessons...Its long , good for strolling..may be not for swimming. Neverless, a beautiful place, close to Kapaa.

On our first visit to Kauai, my main goals was to visit as many beaches as possible and this was definitely my favorite. Sand was great, waves were perfect for boogie boarding or body surfing and the current was not as bad as people led it to be. However, if you are going to tackle this beach, you should be... More

We stopped here one day in early November to boogie board. It's a nice looking beach with good rest rooms and showers. The life guard directed us to the north end of the beach away from the surfers. The bottom of the ocean was incredibly soft and full of depressions, making it hard to walk in. The waves were just... More

Another nice beach on the island. We saw a bunch of locals surfing and paddle boarding. It is across from the Green Pig food truck. Hard to park as the parking lot was full of deep holes.

We stayed at the Waipouli Beach Resort in Kapaa, and went to Kealia Beach twice during our stay. It is a long, beautiful beach with nice sand. A great beach for a stroll. This beach probably doesn’t get the attention it deserves because of the more popular beaches on the north shore. The surf is strong at this beach and... More

We went here since it was close to where we were staying. It's a great place to lay out or enjoy the waves. We started to go in near the lifeguard shack (so we would be watched over by the lifeguard). However, he came out and told us that the currents were pretty strong and unless we were experienced (which... More
