Didn't spend much time here, but walked up and down. Good parking and access, but not idea swimming conditions or sand for laying out.

One of only 7 Kauai beaches with s permanent, daily 9-5 lifeguard. Attractive, easy access, shady pavilions since there are fewer trees to provide natural shade. Long sandy beach with only partial reef visible. In winter, big waves, in summer milder but sill nice for body surfing.

This is a nice beach with a great bike trail behind it. We biked, sat in the sun, and went in the ocean. We actually preferred it over the busy South beaches of the island.

This beach is right on the famous beach path in Kapaa. It is a long expanse of beach and has all the facilities you need for a great day. You can drive your car to the far end of the beach where the water is calmer. There are some really big waves if you are a good strong swimmer. Definitely... More

This was the best beach of all the ones we visited. The surf was intense and constant and the water was beautiful and warm. The rip current was very challenging, even tho I have very strong legs. I didn't have to go out far to get the full effect of this mighty surf. It was so thrilling! If you surf,... More

This was a very pretty beach with big waves. Be sure to listen to the lifeguards and DO NOT go in the water if they are already gone for the day. On the day of our visit the rip currents were pretty strong. Even with following their directions to stay away from the currents, my son drifted into them. When... More

Great beach. We had a blast in the very big waves. Great for boogie boarding and some surfing. Lots of parking and a lifeguard on duty is nice. The waves were massive. Have fun.

This beach was perfect for the kids to learn and have a blast boogie boarding. Also plenty of space to play frisbee on the beach.

Consistent 3-5 waves break close to the beach. Although we are not surfers, the boogie birding was a ton of fun. The constant breeze on the afternoon we went was great to keep you cool as you watch the waves.

I stayed in Poipu which is the sunny side of the island but there was a weird front that came through the week I was there so I was chasing the sun around the island. Kealia is easy to find - it's just north of Kapaa town on the east side. It has easy parking and bathroom facilities. It isn't... More
