This was a very pretty beach with big waves. Be sure to listen to the lifeguards and DO NOT go in the water if they are already gone for the day. On the day of our visit the rip currents were pretty strong. Even with following their directions to stay away from the currents, my son drifted into them. When... More

Great beach. We had a blast in the very big waves. Great for boogie boarding and some surfing. Lots of parking and a lifeguard on duty is nice. The waves were massive. Have fun.

This beach was perfect for the kids to learn and have a blast boogie boarding. Also plenty of space to play frisbee on the beach.

Consistent 3-5 waves break close to the beach. Although we are not surfers, the boogie birding was a ton of fun. The constant breeze on the afternoon we went was great to keep you cool as you watch the waves.

I stayed in Poipu which is the sunny side of the island but there was a weird front that came through the week I was there so I was chasing the sun around the island. Kealia is easy to find - it's just north of Kapaa town on the east side. It has easy parking and bathroom facilities. It isn't... More

We stopped by a couple times during our vacation to watch the surfers. Some really talented men and women surfers. Lots of covered tables. There is a memorial to Andy Irons, champion surfer. If you swim, be careful. Lots of violent surf the day we were there.

We stayed in Princeville and rented boogie boards from Hanalei Surf Company for really cheap. The waves on the North Shore in the winter are pretty rough, but driving a short distance south to Kealia Beach is well worth it. We're all adults but my friends and I had a blast boogie boarding for hours at this beach. Drive into... More

This is a fairly undeveloped beach area used by surfers, swimmers, and baskers. There is a boardwalk for strolling or biking leading north. Nothing fancy, just a pleasant place to consider the waves.

Came here to boogie board and watch the surfers. Big surf the day we were here, so boarding was challenging but way fun. The beach is wide open and favored by locals, so even if the surf is rough, it's a great place to chill out and relax. Been in Poipu for two weeks and have driven every square inch... More

Kealia beach is just north of Kapaa. On the beach there is not much shade but there are gazebos back of the beach area that are perfect for a picnic. The water and currents can be a bit rough so be cautious with children. it is a surfrs beach. There is a great bike and walking trail that leads north... More
