I like to think of myself as an expert sampler of lots of beginners instructors, (since I practice surfing so infrequently, I always go and drop money for a "beginners" lesson.) And Cliff and the Learn to Surf school are by far the best value, quality of instruction, and optimize for the most important thing on surfing.... getting you up... More

If you are searching for surf lessons, I highly recommend this team. We have surfed with Cliff three times now and can't imagine better instructors. The concept of this school is also ideal- they find the best beginner waves for the island that week and let you know which beach to meet them. We've never had a bad day. Yes... More

We are a family of 4 (two adults, 10 yo girl, 7 yo boy) who had no experience surfing. When I Googled "surfing lessons in Kauai" I came up with a bunch of places all charging $65-75 for a group lesion (90 minutes). However, when I looked in "The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook" (which is excellent), I found "Learn To Surf".... More

CLIFF IS A PHENOMENAL INSTRUCTOR! Fantastic Experience! GOOD FOR ALL LEVELS OF EXPERIENCE: There were three of us taking lessons, and Cliff was able to cater his lesson to each person. This was my first time surfing, and even though I was a little nervous to try this, Cliff gave a lot of guidance and made it a very enjoyable... More

This was my father's day gift and I could not have been happier. Outstanding lessons for our whole family. We all surfed!! And they were in absolutely no rush. In fact, I pretty much told them we were good otherwise I think he might have stayed out forever. One tip...if wearing short sleeves, wear body glide on your arms...rookie mistake.... More

This was our 12 & 13 year old girls' third surf lesson this trip. They were ready to move up from hanalei bay and the nice thing about this company is they are not tied to a particular beach but have freedom to go to other places. Good instruction and reasonably priced for a 90 minute lesson plus 30 minutes... More

We booked two surf session with Nephi of Learn to Surf. The first day we met him at this beautiful spot on Kahili Beach and we caught waves easily. Nephi and Billy were easy going. They gave pointers and offered different techniques to stand up and enjoy surfing. The second day, we met them at Wailua Beach in Kapa'a and... More

My son and I wanted to try surfing while in Kauai. Found Learn to Surf on Trip Advisor. All the positive ratings were highly justified. Cliff was easy to set up lessons and was a great instructor. Price was very reasonable. Can't speak highly enough of Cliff.

Had a great time learning to surf. The lesson is with a small group and a great instructor for a very very reasonable price. We got to surf for two hours and I stood up at least 20 times, many of those I rode all the way to shore. I highly recommend giving these guys a try while on the... More

I loved the surfing lessons from Cliff. There was four of us plus two others in our group. I was the nervous one and Cliff was extremely patient and didn't push me past my comfort zone. He was super nice and you could tell he was happy to see people up on their boards surfing, giving us high fives. Loved... More
