We snorkeled at Poi'pu beach the day before and were a little intimidated by the strong waves. Here, there is an enclosed area for kids to swim and play as well as adults. There are some fish to check out while snorkeling, and waves do get through sometimes over the rock wall, but it's a lot less intimidating and a... More

Really special little place with camping areas and bathrooms with showers located everywhere! At the end of this park is a play bridge...DO NOT MISS GOING TO IT! Adults and kids alike will LOVE this play bridge...it is an intricately made play structure with hidey holes and lots of places to go. VERY NEAT! Very close to the beach.

The water is full service with guards, shower, and restrooms. The water is surrounded by lava rocks, so it is safe for kids and people who are not powerful swimmers. On the other hand, water is not so transparent, but by snorkeling, we could watch a lot of big fish.

The protected pools make this an ideal snorkeling spot for beginners. The water itself is about 5-6 feet deep at the most. We parked right next to the pools and in the morning it wasn't very crowded. The water was very calm and we got to see more fish than we expected in such a small enclosed space.

With its two boulder-enclosed pools, the swimming and snorkeling is very safe here. There are not as many fish, or as big a variety, as you will find around reefs but there are enough to make it interesting. It's a great place for beginners. The park itself is very nice and mostly clean. There is a lifeguard on duty during... More

This is a safe place to swim. It does get crowded, so get there early. I liked that one can park very close to the swimming area.

Great for anyone, including families. A lovely protected beach with two swimming "pools" with ocean water, protected by rock walls. One pool is for kids, the other for anyone. A good first place to get comfortable with snorkel gear.

We spent numerous days here with our grandkids because of the wonderful protected swimming/snorkeling beach, picnic tables, clean restrooms, showers, etc. One of the best beaches on Kauai and very close to Kapaa where we were staying.

One of the few beaches that did not have riptide issues with which to contend. Liked the rock barrier to make a safer swimming edperince
