This is a great beach to visit if you have small children. There are playgrounds bathrooms, fishing areas, and the beach. It is very calm and safe for small children to play in the water, and not far from Lihue or Kapaa.

We took a nice walk thru the park and campground. Excited to return. The bridge and artwork was awesome! Very family friendly place to visit and spend the day.

Limited snorkeling but it was a great little beach / pond for the kids. We had a lot of fun here and saw convict tangs and very friendly big-sized bluefishes with yellow fins. It was like swimming/wading in an aquarium. There are showers for you to rinse off and nice breezes off the shore... what else could you want ?

We snorkeled at Poi'pu beach the day before and were a little intimidated by the strong waves. Here, there is an enclosed area for kids to swim and play as well as adults. There are some fish to check out while snorkeling, and waves do get through sometimes over the rock wall, but it's a lot less intimidating and a... More

Really special little place with camping areas and bathrooms with showers located everywhere! At the end of this park is a play bridge...DO NOT MISS GOING TO IT! Adults and kids alike will LOVE this play bridge...it is an intricately made play structure with hidey holes and lots of places to go. VERY NEAT! Very close to the beach.

The water is full service with guards, shower, and restrooms. The water is surrounded by lava rocks, so it is safe for kids and people who are not powerful swimmers. On the other hand, water is not so transparent, but by snorkeling, we could watch a lot of big fish.

The protected pools make this an ideal snorkeling spot for beginners. The water itself is about 5-6 feet deep at the most. We parked right next to the pools and in the morning it wasn't very crowded. The water was very calm and we got to see more fish than we expected in such a small enclosed space.

With its two boulder-enclosed pools, the swimming and snorkeling is very safe here. There are not as many fish, or as big a variety, as you will find around reefs but there are enough to make it interesting. It's a great place for beginners. The park itself is very nice and mostly clean. There is a lifeguard on duty during... More

This is a safe place to swim. It does get crowded, so get there early. I liked that one can park very close to the swimming area.
