The Park is family friendly with a pool for little kids which is safe and calm. The highlight for us is the South end of the Park and the the beach in front of the campgrounds. The sand is flat and hard, very unlike most Kauai beaches which tend to be soft and difficult to walk on. This beach extends... More

Family 7, 10, 42, 78 went out and love it. The waves are good now but you know how the winds blow. Dont' worry as you can go to the West coast or the south coast to get away if the waves are to hard for you. Trust me as this is the place to start with all your family.

We loved this beach and had a great time playing with our 3-year-old here. However, the facilities were overrun with people who obviously lived at the campsite and it gave me a bad feeling. I went in to change clothes with my daughter and while changing, 2 women came in. They were talking by the sinks when we emerged from... More

At first glance, this looked a little too boring and safe for us but then we got in and found hundreds of fish of all sorts in the rocks! Finally left when the sun was setting.

Nice beach views, good for swimming. Park has showers that are surrounded by brick wall, which was great to use last day before getting on plane.

No worries for the beginning snorkler of being taken out into the ocean. I saw some beautiful fish here and so did my hubby who just walked near the rock wall. He doesn't enjoy snorkeling, but enjoyed the fish swimming close to him.

There is also a heaiu on the prorperty and some I for, scion located there about the sacred site. There are public restrooms and the beach is beautiful. They have built a breakwater and protection area for children and a wading pool area for the little ones. There is a co plus for parties, lots of tables and covered areas and... More

Lydgate is our choice when; the east side is sunny and either we want no surf (grand kids), or the surf is low and we want the privacy of the long open water beach. Lydgate is more heavily visited than Anahola on weekdays but is better taken care of and so convenient.

We stayed at the Aston Aloha Beach so just walked down to swim every day. The park is lovely, clean and spacious. There are two enclosed safe sandy beach swimming areas there, one for small children and one for others. There are at least twenty different kinds of fish that you can see by snorkeling around the rocks. We sighted... More
