Not a bad beach, but a lot better in Kauai...all beaches are beautiful in Kauai that I visited but this just seemed like a normal beach ..no big wave, rocks to climb, wildlife, maybe I picked wrong day was kind of dirty around area actually...trash on ground that I actually picked up and threw in recycle bin...I wouldn't go out of my... I Love going to Lydgate State Park. The protected swimming area is great for the young and the not so young to enjoy. Because it is a protected swimming area there is no rip current that can carry a person out and away from the beach. You can see tropical fish swimming in the same area. Also it is a... More

Lovely park and swimming spot. A barrier of rocks encloses the swimming area to offer a calm and safe ocean experience. Great for introduction to snorkeling as one can actually see schools of beautiful fish easily in waist high water

We visited this place a couple times on our trip because of the cool tide pools filled with fish - you can walk or swim through them (it's deeper in the middle) and see tons of fish even without a mask. Restroom facilities on site as well with plenty of parking.

I enjoyed my visit to Lydgate State Park. It wasn't to crowded and plenty of parking. Great views. It was a bit tricky to find at least for me but I am usually not very good with directions.

this great was beach for boogie boarding for smaller kids and had super close parking. It was the perfect beach to sit and play in. They have picnic tables that are shaded right there to eat lunch and a great park to play at.

We went to have lunch at Lydgate before our flight home. We used one of the empty tent camping spots that had a picnic table. Beautiful views and close to the ocean. Lots of amenities. Must checkout completely on a return trip to Kaua'i.

Our family are not experienced snorkelers, so the calm sheltered water was perfect for our snorkeling day on Kauai. The location was beautiful and had tables and bathroom facilities nearby

This was the first beach we visited on Kauai. There is a protected rock walled smaller area for little keiki and a larger rock wall area that is popular for snorkeling. Our 2 YO liked both the keiki (kid) area and the larger area near the edge. Our 6 YO learned to snorkel in the larger area. There are lots... More

This is an awesome beach located near Lihue and Kapa'a (south side) What makes it so great is the fact that the beach has been sectioned off from the rough ocean waves by creating a boulder wall. This created 2 lagoons, one for the kids and another large section for adults. They back filled the lagoon with fine sand so... More
