If you want to snorkle but have a fear of the ocean then go to Lydgate. There is a large man-made rock wall surrounding the pool so you are protected from waves and large marine animals. But the smaller fish are able to get through and are wonderful to look at. The beach is nice and there are great facilites... More

We didn't travel with any children but this looked like an ideal place for little guys. Enclosed swimming pool and large playground. A nice beach for adults too, though too rough for swimming when we went.

The park had lots of parking and some nice beach areas and nice areas to picnic and bicycle. They have a bluff that protects some areas of the water so it makes snorkeling safe. When we were on Kauai, it was the only place on the island we were allowed to snorkel. Unfortunately because of the bluff there were no... More

Great beach/park for young ones. The protected area of the ocean is great for young ones and non-swimmers to snorkel in, and because of the protection, no big waves to wipe out your sand creations! Bathrooms, grass, play equipment and lots of Hawaiian Cardinal birds.

Large picnic/sports playing field. Right on the beach. This is an are where there are walking paths and picnic tables over looking the water. There is a calm, manmade swimming area ideal for snorkeling.

As the many of the previous reviewers have indicated, this is a great place to take your children--it seems to be popular with the locals for that reason as well. It also a safe snorkeling spot for weaker swimmers. The rock breakwaters create two calm, circular swimming areas. The surf outside these barriers looked pretty wild. I would not recommend... More

Great place for family beach trip. Bath house, lifeguard, picnic area and swimming. Waves and current are very strong past the rock wall. It's best to swim in the designated areas.

My 3 year old loves beaches and this one indeed was his highlight as they have shallow swimming section where was able to comfortable to play and sand was so clean and soft. They also had clean restrooms, shower and play area which makes it best place for kids for sure :). Highly recommended.
