My favorite beach!!!

This is the best place to snorkel for beginners, because the water is low and you will see great tropical fish. Me and my husband fell in love with this place!!!!

When on the east side of the island this is a perfect place to have a small picnic or better yet for a family gathering. They have a pavilion to sit under with plenty of tables. They have nice clean bathrooms as well.

This was our favorite beach to go to in east Kauai. The cove that is blocked off by the rocks is perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The water temp was great and it wasn't too crowded. There are also showers by the bathrooms and a huge playground for the kids. Seemed like a lot of locals visited this park. Definitely... More

Great for families, nice "ocean pool" to swim, safe for kids of all ages, was good place to snorkel with them since they have little experience and even though there is no coral and little fish, we did saw a significant number of them which made the kids very exited including blow fish, a barracuda and a significant size school... This is a great park for families with kids. A rock barrier encloses a place for small children to swim. There is a much larger barrier for swimmers to enjoy. Get there early, as there isn't much shade. Also, this is a very popular spot for locals on the weekend. Tends to be very busy then.

Lydgate Stare Park and Beach is a great place for kids of ALL ages! There is lots to do at this beach and state park. We have particularly enjoyed snorkeling when our kids were young in the protected area of the beach. We also have fond memories of the playground and grass area which is perfect for family picnics...

We kind of stumbled upon Lydgate Beach, and we were really glad we did! The pools are amazing and it's so fun and relaxing to swim with the fish and watch the waves break over the rocks.

The beach was clean and it has a break wall that holds back the big surf making it ideal for children. There a facilities and good parking.

What a find. There is surf if you love the ocean and a tidal pool for a more relaxed swim. There is a playground for children, picnic area with barbecue facilities. Its a great place to spend the day. Parking a little tight but well worth it.

If you pick up a lunch and take it to Lydagate, there are plenty of picnic tables, jut be aware that there seem to be plenty campers and also "homeless" folks camping. So take a table cloth, set up your items on your picnic table and then lock your vehicle. There are bathrooms and showers for your use. A GrREAT... More
