This beach is sheltered by rocks. The rocks are formed a complete circle which provide a very calm water for snorkeling. Surprisingly there are many fish within this pool. According to local beach volunteer group said little fish got in and have grown fat and can't get out. This pond is ideal for casual snorkeling with virtually no surf.

We wished we would have found this sooner. Water was more calm and good for Snorkeling, also the park had a lot of things for children

my teenage daughter and I really loved this beach; it was conveniently located, rarely too crowded to enjoy, and great snorkeling for beginners

Coming from LA, any beach, Ricky or not is beautiful. This beach has a rock wall that holds off waves & kids can enjoy the beach. On the other side of the beach, the waves are perfect t for adults. Parking is plentiful. Close to our hotel

This was such a great unexpected snorkel... The fish pond has more fish than the other places that we snorkeled. AND It has barracuda in there - 2 of them - and they are big (to me) (prob arm length) - and I didn't know they were there - and then I looked up and they are not scared of... More

What a beautiful place to spend the day. There is something for everyone. Safe swimming for the less adventurous and children. Picnic tables in grassy areas. Walking trails. Historical religious sites. Fairly clean place to change clothes and use toilets.

Good beach for swimming. There is a lovely pond for children and even an area for beginning snorkelling.

We have been to the beach several times. It is a little tricky to find the first time. When to turn at the entrance don't hang right at the treed area you have to go left and down another road to a really long parking lot. We always enjoy this beach - great for kids!

We went to Lydgate beach because we knew that it had an area that was separated from the ocean for snorkeling. It was great! I'm a little nervous when it comes to swimming in the ocean, and since there was a lifeguard and the closed off section, it was perfect for my first time snorkeling. The rocks blocked the waves,...
