Great playground here for little ones. Nice picnic tables so bring your lunch for an afternoon playing in the sand. Large rock enclosure for snorkeling. Saw a good sized Barracuda and other large fish while snorkeling.

This is the best beach to visit with kids. The state built a sea barrier making it safer to swim in plus there is a bathroom and lifeguards.

This is a well protected and shallow area to try your hand and feet at snorkeling. We did just that three years ago and are hooked. lydgate provides an enclosed area with shallow, warmer water and interesting sea life. Plus, there is a lifeguard, bathrooms, showers and a fun outdoor park to enjoy. Lydgate has yet to be fully explored... More

This is the beach we started out at, very close to the hotel and went there several times during our stay. Nice enclosed area for beginner snorkeler's and great for children.

It is a nice place to start out when you are not to sure of where would be a good place to swim. The grassy beach is nice and it has lifeguards, picnic areas and toilets. The beaches on the weekdays are pretty good but the weekends are packed. There is a decent swimming enclosure which is a good place... More

This is a full service beach park with lifeguards, bathrooms and showers. They have two baby beaches which are both great for kids and snorkeling. These beaches are surrounded by black lava rock and provide shelter and a great way to experience the beach on the coconut coast.

I'm sorry that I can't speak to the actual park, or beach here. I read that they had showers that were accessible if you needed one prior to a late flight. It worked perfectly. I had a boat tour of the Na'pali Coast the day I left and left my hotel at 7am. By the time my tour was over... More

Lots of picnic tables and beautiful location for pictures and walking. Not a good beach for swimming, but the views of the waves breaking are incredible. Plenty of parking.

Lydgate was our favorite beach on Kauai. (We also visited Poipu, Hanalei, Tunnels, and Ke'e beaches during our trip.) While the northern beaches were gorgeous, the parking was horrible and the beaches were not really swimmable because our trip occurred during the late winter...however Lydgate was perfect for our young family. Clear blue water, safe for swimming and snorkeling even... More
