This wasn't our most favorite excursion that we went on, and here's a few reasons why: -kayaking is much harder than you think. Not that it's difficult, but going a few miles when it's warm out is difficult and your arms get tired (and we are in shape) -there are people everywhere! It's definitely not a peaceful and quiet kayak/hike... More

I have to say - i was not at all excited about this adventure... even before we got there. The kayaking both ways was hard (2.5 miles each way...and over old fallen trees and debris at one point) - and i'm in decent shape. And the hike to the falls was at least ankle deep in mud.... then our return... More

The family had a great time at this adventure. After a two-mile kayak up the river we had a two-mile hike to the secret falls which was a beautiful spot. After a swim under the falls we returned to where we began. While you do not have to be super-fit to enjoy this adventure, you do have to have reasonable... More

Since 2002, I tried Wailua River Kayak total 5 times. Two times were guided tours. I recommend a guided tour and hiking to secret falls. It's about 5 hours trip (half day activity) worth money and refreshing day hike if you are acompanied by a good kayak tour operator.

We went here on a referral from our B&B in Maui. The setup and expectations were great. Kyle was our guide and was incredibly friendly, funny, helpful and entertaining. He had been all over the world and gave us a lot of great recommendation and places/restaurants to go on the island. At the beginning, they got us together to let... More

My wife and I had kayaked before so navigating the Wailua river wasn't an issue. We decided to signup for the tour however because of the guided hike to Sacred Falls. We arrived in the morning to be greeted by the owners. They provided shoes for those that didn't want to get theirs dirty as we would be walking through... More

My wife, son and his girlfriend took this trip on 23Sep14. Our ages? 67,65, 29, 29. We took the 7:00 a.m. trip. This was a spectacular trip so make sure you take your camera. At check-in, because it had rained hard the night before, we were worried about our shoes and asked each other whether it would be better to... More

My fiance and I went on the secret falls tour in September 2014 and it was Amazing! We did the 7am tour which was a great idea since we were the very first ones to the falls (we saw about 100 people heading with other tour groups heading to the falls on our way back). Judah was our tour guide... More

We just had such an amazing experience with them yesterday. And it's such a reasonable price. The owners and our tour guide, Judah was just amazing. We did the 6:45am one and we're so glad we did the morning one. We were the first one to get on the river and to secret waterfall. We went early on a low... More

Matt was our great guide for this. We were lucky in that the trail was not that muddy. It's not really hiking as much as it is walking around and through tree roots and holes and a fun stream crossing. The weather was great for our trip and I think my wife and I have finally learned to paddle together!... More
