My husband and I enjoy fishing at home so we thought a charter trip might be fun. Captain Jerry was able to get us on a boat the following day for a 6 hour trip. There were six people on the boat and 7 poles in the water and we caught 2 Mahi Mahi, in about the 20 lb range.... More

Spent the morning with captain Rob and his first mate Dave. We had the boat booked for 6 hours and headed out at 6 AM. Rob got us out quickly to an area with lots of activity but unfortunately no bites. Rob and Dave worked hard at finding us fish and while out we did see a school of dolphins... More

I've been on many big game deepsea fishing charters and gotten very little which made this trip so much better - its always a probability game to hook a big tuna or marlin no matter who you go out with, but these guys know the waters off Kauai really well and I'd definitely go out with them again. And highly... More

Took a deep sea fishing trip with Capt. Rob and deck hand Dave. I was impressed with the boat, Marlin Monroe, and expecially with 7 rods and huge Shimano reels...definitely big game equipment. We caught two 20# Yellowfin Tuna and a couple of 10-15# Mahi, but we're certainly ready for a Blue Marlin or two if the opportunity presented. Rob... More

My dad, sister, and I went out with the guys from the Big Ta Do back in early January looking for Tuna. It didn’t take long before we were sharing stories with the guy working the lines as well as the captain (sorry I forget the names). Based on how the fish were biting over the past week, we dropped... More

Went out on January 30th on a private trip with Captain J. We went with him 2 1/2 years ago and had a great time (see "A Nice Day Out" post from Sept 2012). We had an equally great time but for more reasons than just landing fish. Things you need to know when booking a fishing trip: * You... More

Visiting Kauai for our fourth visit and this was our first time chartering a fishing trip. Communication prior to the trip was flawless and we had no trouble arranging the trip. We arrived a few minutes early to find the crew busy on board getting the boat prepared. We received the requisite safety briefing and were out of the harbor... More
