We just returned from a vacation to Kauai. A high point of our vacation was a kayaking trip with Kayak Wailua. Kawika was our guide, and what a wonderful person he is. Kawika, a native of Hawaii, is very knowledgeable of his culture and the local area; and he has a super personality. We forgot our camera on this kayaking... More

First things first, we were very happy with the company. Our guide, Forest, was very energetic, helpful, and patient. Relative to other Kauai activities, such as hiking parts of the canyon or Kalalau trail, this is not very strenuous. The kayak portion of the trip is relaxing, and the views, of course, are nice. The trek on foot to the... More

Recently we had the opportunity to kayak 2 1/2 miles and hike 1 mile to Secret Falls through the company Kayak Wailua. I would highly recommend this trip. The river is beautiful and easily navigable and the hike was not strenuous at all, although there was some muddy spots to hike through. The falls are absolutely beautiful and well worth... More

What a great day. Forest was an informative, witty and entertaining guide. Our group had 10 people of various experiences and abilities. Since this was our first kayaking experience and we were the old timers in the group Forest made us feel very welcome. Loved that the entire trip he was barefoot !! If you want a memorable time experiencing... More

PipiPooPoo thats right, this is beef appetizer. First of all we were one of Forest's favorite tour groups of the day so I might be biased, but I learned so much about Kauai from him including Hawaiian language, culture, and history. It was a non stop class that was both fascinating and hilarious. He kept the whole group laughing the... More

In January I began doing my research on trip advisor. I emailed 4 outfitters in regards to my concerns about my 5 and 7 year olds making the hike up. We'll kayak Wailua was the first to respond with in the hour. Another took awhile, while the two others never responded. With that, and the incredible reviews on TA, I... More

We spent an afternoon with our most informative and friendly guide Chelsey at Kayak Wailua in Kapaa. We kayaked 2 miles up the river, hiked a mile to a 100'+ waterfall for a swim and a picnic. Did all that with 4 loud adults and 4 giggling 10 year old girls, and Chelsey put up with all of us and... More

Okay...so we had a bad start of the day. Went to ke'e beach, but found kalalau trail was closed due to rain so we called kayak wailua - they were awesome! Totally rescued us from a terrible day. Went on the the 1pm tour and had an amazing guide - Chelsea - who really knew her way around the Wailua... More

The kayaking and hike was a lot of fun. We have signed up with Kayak Wailua several times and have always had a great time. The guides, especially Lisa, are very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend taking this tour with Kayak Wailua.

Just returned from 12 days on Kauai and one of the highlights (there were sooo many!) was certainly our kayak trip up the Wailua River to the Falls. We never would have found it had we not done the 'tour'! Shout out to our effervescent guide....Forrest...ta da! Talks a mile a minute....kept us in stitches....but listen closely and you will...
