My husband and I went on this adventure in the beginning of October. We thought it would be a relaxing day trip. Well, the kayaking was fun and the waterfall was beautiful, but the hike was muddy, slippery, and not what we expected. Now, it doesn't mean it's all bad, just be warned the hike isn't something you can do... more

We just went on a guided tour with Kayak Wailua. We didn't have any problems. Our 2 year old son came with us on the double kayak and he was pretty good. We didn't flip so that makes for a great trip! more

We did this experience through Kayak Wailua the first Friday in October of 09 in the early afternoon/ late morning as one of our honeymoon excursions! My husband and I had a blast! I must say, that my husband and I enjoy kayaking! We are not professionals by any means, but are very comfortable kayaking/ canoeing on calm and white... more

If you have ever kayaked (even once), you do not need a guide. This is a very popular, large, calm river. It is not hard to find the hiking trails (just look for all the other kayaks along the way). The tour is very unprofessional. YOU MEET AT A GAS STATION.. enough said. After leaving the suspicious gas station, you... more

If you are an experienced Kayaker then you are better off just renting a kayaking and taking the Wailua to Sacred Falls yourself. If you are an inexperienced Kayaker then there is minimal instruction and support. You are better off paying the extra dollars for one of the many other tours on the island. We had to pay extra for... more

We were in Kauai for a wedding. Our group consisted of various ages, sizes and levels of fitness. We were assured this trip was suitable for everyone. This is SO false. Our guide (a young thin woman with 2 small children - I can't recall her name), made many bad decisions that endangered our party. Kayak Wailua says it takes... more

Trip started with a surprise at hidden 15% charge for tip in advance (we understood why later). Then they try to nickel and dime for a high back seat in the kayak for an extra $5 - this is a rip off and should just be automatically included. Then they get you to sign up a detailed form essentially saying... more

This tour was wonderful. Our guide, Renee, was very friendly and knowledgeable. We loved the waterfall, which was refreshing to swim in after our gentle hike up there. The river was very calm, except for when motor boats would come by and knock us about a bit. We would recommend this tour to anyone, and had a great time. Several... more

We booked this trip before leaving the mainland. We thought the person at check-in (sorry no name) was extremely business oriented lacking any effort to "wow" us or greet with enthusiasm. She asked for our name and then walked us over to a sample kayak with a regular seat (included in price) and a high back ($5 extra). Felt like... more

Nice tour but so unpleased with the hidden cost!!! They will charge you an extra $5 for a high back seat...which should come standard on the Kayak in my opinion for the amount of time you spend in the Kayak it is a must for the trip...so why charge for it!!! buy one for every Kayak...Lame...I also was mad about... more
