The biggest surprise of our time up the Wailua was how challenging it was for the four of us in our 60's who are in walking shape, but not kayaking shape! You kayak roughly two miles up the river and two miles down. You hike a mile in and a mile back to the waterfall. As others have said the... More

My wife and I went on the 5-hour kayak and hike to a waterfall this morning. Kyle was our guide -- and like other reviewers, we really enjoyed his positive attitude, knowledge, and aloha spirit. He seemed genuinely interested in getting to know each of us. We loved his mini lessons about the plants/wildlife. Kayak Wailua seems like a great... More

I wanted to find an activity that would allow me to see and experience parts of Kauai that I wouldn't feel comfortable doing alone. Kayak Wailua didn't disappoint! Everyone I interacted with from the time I made the reservation (online) through the time I got in my car and left after that tour was very friendly and professional. Our tour... More

Our guide, Kavika, was AWESOME! We were a small group (3 from the Ukraine, 3 from San Jose/Tawian, and my husband/me) and Kavika took time to get to know all of us. The kayaking part was as fast as you wanted to go, with no pressured pace! When we got to the hiking part, there was a ton of mud...but... More

After finding the advertisement for Kayak Wailua in a tourist magazine, I thought "$39.95? What's the catch?" If you do your research, you'll see that similar tour companies will charge upwards of $65-80 for the same tour (kayak through the Wailua river, hike through the jungle, playtime at an awesome waterfall). The only difference in the more expensive tours is... More

Lisa was our guide on a beautiful Kauai morning. She was very knowledgable, patient, and friendly. We booked with this company because they did not provide lunch and we like to pack our own lunch. Plus their price was the best, and they had great reviews. Like many have said you don't have to be experienced to do this, as... More

I like the experience with Kayak Wailua. Renee, our guide (and savior) was excellent and very patient. She gave us the introduction and was extremely helpful when we where desperate paddling going nowhere up the river. The walk to the waterfall was beautiful, once there you can have your lunch and take a bath, I found the water to be... More

Went on a five hour kayak tour with Kyle as our guide, who was wonderful. Very patient, kind, laid back, and knowledgeable. We kayaked down the river to a very muddy trail to a waterfall - and picnicked there. Bring lunch, and shoes that have some grip and can get wet. I would recommend this trip and this company!

Went on a kayak trip today with Kayak Wailua. Kyle our guide was very knowledgable with the local plants and animals. Kept us safe on the muddy hike. Waterfall was worth the hike. The company was easy to find and very helpful. Price was great as well,

We had a fantastic time kayaking, hiking and swimming. Our guide Kavika was a lot of fun and a wealth of knowledge. You will definitely get wet and muddy. Embrace and enjoy!
