Please be advised that the trail leading to Secret Falls has been greatly improved since November 16th, 2014. A board walk has been installed to span the ditches which have been very muddy for many months. Although the trail is often muddy and slippery, the overall hiking experience is substantially better. For those of you who hiked the Secret Falls trail earlier this year, all of the kayak companies thank you for your patience and understanding that the rain forest trail is through a wilderness which is subject to Mother Nature's whimsical behavior. Mahalo nui loa and a hui hou!

So glad we chose Kayak Wailua for our river trip. The prices for this organization are significantly lower than its competitors, and the experience was first class. Sure, you have to bring your own lunch. No biggie. Kyle was a great guide. He provided good instruction and was helpful and supportive throughout the day. The kayak ride is 45 minutes... More

Other than our friend getting married, this was the highlight of our recent visit to Kauai. Our guide, Austin, gave our group instructions on handling the kayak, as well as how to NOT tip one over!! He was fun, knowledgeable of the terrain, and made sure we all had a good time. We left at 8am (before it got too... More

The whole trip was pretty laid back with a beautiful kayak tour down the river. The hike up to the waterfall with our guide Forest was a little challenging and muddy at first, but had amazing views. Forest was a terrific and fun guide for our tour. He was very knowledgeable about the island and history of the trails, even... More

Forest was our guide who at first puts you off by his high-energy personality. But he was actually very knowledgeable of the local nature and history. He was also a great help to us, since we were inexperienced in navigating a three-seater kayak. He kept an eye on the rest of the group while helping us. We would highly recommend... More

My extended family had a wonderful experience kayaking the Wailea, and then hiking through the "mango forest" with Lisa. She was friendly, outgoing, positive, and had a lot interesting botanical knowledge and experiences to share. We received a Paul Mitchel soap ingredient right from the real plant source!) The waterfall was just a splutter instead of the usual rager, but... More

I selected this vendor as I had kayaked the Wailua river about 15 years ago and wanted to bring my wife, these guys had one of the best reviews here and elsewhere which are well deserved. On past trips it was easy to just rent a kayak at the river and head off on your own, but they have cracked... More

We had an extraordinary time on this kayak and hiking adventure with Lisa as our guide. From the beginning, when they let us borrow (not purchase) hats and tennis shoes for our adventure, I was impressed with their desire to provide a great experience. (PSA - by the way, CLOSED IN water shoes or tennis shoes are a must!) Lisa's... More

We finally did this after 10+ trips to Kauai. Glad we did. Our 5 boys are ages 8-16. We had a 3-person kayak and 2 more doubles. It was a fun family afternoon and our guide, Kawika, was very friendly. The hike was doable for all. We wore our water shoes and seemed to do fine with those. The return... More

Really enjoyed kayaking up and down Wailua river. We did it first thing in the morning before it got hot. When we arrived for check in, we thought the guide was a bit high-stress, however. e.g. "Let's move it along" and "we're running behind" I think he felt the pressure to get everyone on the bus and to the launch...
