Please be advised that the trail leading to Secret Falls has been greatly improved since November 16th, 2014. A board walk has been installed to span the ditches which have been very muddy for many months. Although the trail is often muddy and slippery, the overall hiking experience is substantially better. For those of you who hiked the Secret Falls trail earlier this year, all of the kayak companies thank you for your patience and understanding that the rain forest trail is through a wilderness which is subject to Mother Nature's whimsical behavior. Mahalo nui loa and a hui hou!

Definitely worth the time and cost in terms of sites, experience, and adventure. They provide you with a dry bag - which will seal anything and keep it totally dry. Bring water and wear sunscreen. We passed people who were trying to navigate the hiking trail on their own - but it's confusing with different routes, so I'd only go... More

We had a large group and after calling they accommodated with a private trip. Was awesome. Everyone from 12-35 years enjoyed the trip. Joe was a great guide. He taught us the right amount of information on local plants and culture.

Fun even in the rain!!! The kayaking was leisurely and the hiking was fun, even forging across the unusually high river during the hike. Dominic was a great guide.

This was a great way to spend a day. The -guided tour (small groups) takes you down the Wailua river into an area where you can bring your kayak up on shore and then hike (not strenuous) to Secret Falls. IT's a great place to have a picnic lunch, a swim under the falls and a bit of a rest... More

My husband and I were looking to kayak on the island and found this awesome company. The experience started with my first phone call. The gentleman on the phone was super friendly and informative and was able to squeeze us onto the next tour in a couple of hours. The company is very professional and the offices are clean and... We decided to go with Kayak Wailua because it seemed like a "no frills" version of other, markedly more expensive tours. My husband and I have kayak experience and didn't need a catered lunch, so we definitely preferred no frills. However, despite being less expensive than other options, this company was perfectly accommodating and we had everything we needed--a great... More

Had a great time. Our guide, Lisa was very knowledgeable about the history of the island, river and population. The paddle up the river was at an enjoyable pace as was the hike to the waterfall. Unfortunately there wasn't much water falling but it was worth the effort anyway. The paddle back was just as enjoyable. This is a recommended... More

Forest made our kayaking adventure so much more than your average guided tour! He hung out in the back with the less experienced kayakers, never abandoning them yet let everyone else travel at their own pace. His knowledge of Hawaii was incredible. He talks fast and he talks a lot but his passion for his job and Kauai are sincere.... More

Great value, lots of fun, perfect upper body workout all wrapped in one! Chose Kayak Wailua because of family run business, best prices, other reviewers. Had 2 kayaks for me, my wife and our 2 sons (in their 20's). Recommend the kayaks with high back seats, well worth the $5/person. Travelled a few miles down the river to entrance to... More

We kayaked this river without a guide and had an incredible time. Once you have launched, you can go to the right and paddle down the river and into the ocean. We chose to go left and paddled about 2 miles up the river. There is a point where the river narrows and the vegetation has grown into the river.... More
