Owner description: Please be advised that the trail leading to Secret Falls has been greatly improved since November 16th, 2014. A board walk has been installed to span the ditches which have been very muddy for many months. Although the trail is often muddy and slippery, the overall hiking experience is substantially better. For those of you who hiked the Secret Falls trail earlier this year, all of the kayak companies thank you for your patience and understanding that the rain forest trail is through a wilderness which is subject to Mother Nature's whimsical behavior. Mahalo nui loa and a hui hou!

We were recommended to "Kayak Wailua" by friends, family and locals. It did not disappoint! For considerably cheaper than other places, you definitely get your money's worth! Kawika was an amazing guide, knowledgeable and entertaining. He made a point to know everyone's name, where we were from, what we did, why we were here, etc... Will be recommending this to... More

Had a great time today! We are an extremely active family and not many businesses (ie I couldn't find any others on the wailua river that would even rent us a boat to do it ourselves) would allow a 3 yr old and a pregnant person (me) to join on the kayak and hike even though we do these activities... A coworker recommended we do the kayak and hike to Secret Falls. It was a beautiful day! You kayak for 2.5 miles then hike 1 mile to a waterfall which was freezing but gorgeous. I'm glad I got in the water but it was COLD. Then you hike and kayak back for the same distance. Our guide was Lisa who... More

If you like to both kayak and hike, this is a tour just for you. It is about 5 hours long and involves approximately 2 miles of kayaking and 4 miles of hiking. Bring some kind of hiking/water shoe that you don't mind getting wet and muddy. They provide old sneakers if you don't want to get yours dirty. They... More

Aloha James! Thank you for choosing to kayak with Kayak Wailua. We really appreciate your thoughts. If smaller crowds are important to you, I would advise choosing the best days and the best times of day for less hikers on the trail. Also traveling during peak holiday seasons will always result in heavier traffic. The reservationists are always willing to... More

Our guide Forest was a bundle of energy - full of useful information and Hawaiian trivia. Despite the less than perfect weather he managed to get our party of 14 to the secret falls and back in high spirits. He even showed us that it is possible to kayak with an umbrella! He is an excellent guide and we recommend... More

Thanks to Lisa our amazing guide, my friend and I had the most amazing experience on Kauai this summer! Lisa was so welcoming, and really brought our neat tour group together as a team. The Kayaking and hiking was rigorous and challenging, but at the same time so amazing, beautiful, and at times--funny. I would recommend bringing water, light clothes,... More

I chose this trip for something my family could all do together. I liked that this tour actually answered the phone to answer my questions as many of the others just had voicemail. They also had great reviews and I even requested a specific guide (Kyle) based on reviews. . Kyle was just perfect as a guide, both interesting and... More

We went to the base location at the mouth of the river (at Kuhio Highway) and they didn't have any single kayaks ( we were a group of 5), so they sent us up to their other location at Kamokila Hawaiian Village- which was WAY better! They charged us $35/person regardless of single or double kayak, gave us a wet... More

Please remove your review because you did not rent kayaks from our company. We are guided tours only and attract the demographic who want to be educated by our knowledgable guides. Thank you very much. I am sure the rental company will appreciate your fine review! Mahalo nui loa, Pete More
