This was so fun! You walk out on a bridge suspended over a water way with wonderful views. Don't miss this one.

I would say that if you are passing through the area, you have to stop and try the swinging bridge. It is a good time. There isn't much to do in town so check out the bridge and move on.

The swinging bridge was originally built in 1911 but was heavily damaged and repaired/rebuilt after Hurricane Iniki in 1992. It's a fun stop in a cute town and not nearly as 'rickety' as it looks, although there are nail heads sticking up in a couple of places that could stub your toe. Locals use it to get across the river... More

It is a great swinging bridge. If you have motion sickness or vertigo, do not walk across. It is a nice place to visit with some nice little shops near by, and I think this is where Lilo and Stitch took place.

Interesting small town and swinging bridge in quaint neighborhood. Get out and stretch your legs on the way to Waimea Canyon.

The swinging bridge is like something from an Indiana Jones movie. It really does swing when you walk on it. It is located in Hanapepe, a small, charming town worth a visit. We saw great and reasonably priced photos, as well as more expensive artwork. Bought a beautiful and unusual maybe Pearl necklace and get compliments every time I wear... More

Hanapepe is a really fun town. Lots of funky shops and this really awesome swinging bridge. We spent the afternoon here. Walked the bridge and visited the shops. Really great spice shop right next to the bridge. A really relaxing no cost activity!

Most visitors that stop over in Hanapepe will most likely miss the sight of this little swinging bridge which is located in the middle of the Main St pass Jackie's Store. You need to walk across it in order to appreciate the true concept of a "swinging bridge." You may feel like it is just about to collapse but we... More

This is a must see and do while you're in the area. We were actually Geocaching and had to cross the bridge and walk down 1/10 of a mile to find the cache. Great walk with lots to see. Interesting town too. Lots of art.
