I doubt that the Swinging Bridge is worth a stop just to see it, but if you happen to be stopping in Hanapepe, might as well mosey out to cross it. Having said that, many a traveler will stop in Hanapepe on their way from "town" (Lihue, Poipu, or wherever your hotel is) en route to Waimea Canyon, as it's... More

We had this bridge as a place to stop and see however we had difficulty finding it. When we finally did it was a little later in the day and many of the shops were closed down. Look for the Aloha Spice shop. We parked in their parking lot and made the short walk to the bridge. Climb the stairs... More

The bridge is cool but not worth planning your day around. If you will be near the area it is worth a side trip. The bridge has a cool sensation as you walk across it. Also Hanapepe little downtown area has some cute shops and some impressive art galleries.

Dont expect BIG TOURIST ATTRACTION with this one, but if you a have a week or so on the island, this is a good place to visit. The bridge is a very narrow structure that spans the river. Constructed from wood with steel suspension wires. Its the wires thats makes it swing. The town is quite small, but with a... More

Great fun with a nice hike on the other side. Be sure to visit the Aloha Spice shop on the town side.

If you are in the area, take a short detour, but do not expect anything hugely special. Apparently it is still in use, so locals may look at you funny, like why are you here?

We stop to see this bridge when ever we are on Kauai. It just takes a few minutes to stop and walk across it. It is just kind of novel. The views are ok and the bridge does swing. It is solid and stable. If you are passing by it is worth seeing. There is a huge beautiful tree at... More

My wife really liked walking across this swinging bridge. It's just so unusual to see a bridge like that still in use.

Behind the Kauai Spice Company hides the vintage swinging bridge. Walk across this with a take out coffee. You'll feel like a kid again and this bridge isn't very long, like 2 minutes to cross over

This was a pleasant stop, although not what I anticipated. I had expected a small, wobbly bridge, this was large and pretty solid.
