Great spot to relax. Be sure to take a beach umbrella for the hot sun and the occasional short showers.

This beach was our preferred beach on island as we came often here. the ocean was very calm every day, the views in the bay are just amazing. there are a lot of spaces in the parking every day (even after 11 am). We rented a kayak just nearby on the Hanalei river. We'll miss this spot.

A great place to visit on the North Shore of Kauai. The beach is large, with lots of parking (though it fills up during the busy season). The pier is great to walk out on, and the sunsets from the pier are striking. Lots of boats in the harbor, paddle boarders, kayaks, surfers, and swimmers. Neat place.

Even if you aren't staying on the North Shore it is worth the drive. Warm calm waters in the summer. Picturesque. Snorkeling wasn't bad, Parking was easy and best of all free!!

Nothing bad to be said about it. One suggestion, if you are into learning to surf, go here early. particularly during the winter months, it was a great place to learn (we went end of oct - early nov)

I love this beach and come here often. It is good for kids during the day, and is not that crowded. But the best part is going at sunset with a picnic. The sunsets are just gorgeous! So get yourself a meal to go from Hanalei and walk down here (or drive), and have a dinner you will not forget.

Found this on the last day, looks like a spot for the locals. Definitely visit here. It's by the pier .. very busy and looks like camp site, but well worth the visit. The locals seem to love it.

I enjoyed Hanalei beach - its a large beach, but popular so it can be a little more crowded than some other beaches in Kauai. It was fun to wade it and body surf - the waves can get quite large. There is a sandbar towards the middle of the beach so you can walk out a little ways. The... More

We stopped at this beach to check out the water and waves. We saw lots of families and locals enjoying the water. While we did not swim here, we walked out to the pier and watched many people (including a toddler in a life jacket!) enjoying the leap into the water below. Had we had more time, I would have... We love going to Hanalei Beach when on Kauai. The beach is comfortable and they have lifeguards on duty so you know someone is looking out if problems arise. The ocean bay waters are moderated and good for boogie boarding or just floating around in the water. Standup paddle boarding seems to be popular in the area because the water... More
