Super crowded on the beach but that's expected in Hawaii. This place is beautiful! I wish I had a paddle board! Swimming or just chilling on the beach with the view of the mountains is worth the drive from Lihue. Postcard image and you will wanna come back. I wish there was a beach bar!!

Is it worth a detour just to see a pier? Frankly, no. But wait... you're in Hanalei Bay! which in itself is worth a detour, so might as well enjoy the sight from the pier too! You actually have to watch one sunset in Hanalei Bay, and the pier adds a distinctive touch to the sunset scenery.

Beautiful Hanalei Bay Pier... Took beatiful pictures. Water is ok, its a Bay not a beach :) You can park your car right next to the water, if you are lucky to find a parking space. A must go place on the North of Kauai.

We drove to the pier after an afternoon at the beach. We weren't really sure what to expect when we got out of the car - lots of people, not many tourists. As we starting walking out we heard a band start to play and that set the mood for the rest of our visit. We watched some girls jumping... More

Kind of a party place for the locals…wasn't impressed with the pier area itself. Dirty and filthy…it's a shame the locals treat their environment this way!

While my kids preferred the waves of some the other beaches they loved the opportunity to jump off the pier. We spent about 75 minutes doing just that. The spot is easy to drive to and the water is calm and clear. We brought our waterproof camera and got some great jumping photos from the water.

My son and I jumped off the end of the pier - no diving - just feet first. It was fun! The water at the end of the pier is deeper than on the side of the pier..... there were tons of teen boys and girls jumping but not many moms! My son was proud!

Near the end of our week long stay we headed up to Hanalei - without swimsuits - to "check it out" .....mistake! My kids were so disappointed we hadn't made this a destination priority! The beach was huge, the water calm, the pier awesome, the north shore amazing!!!! On the east side of the pier folks had backed their cars... More
