It's right on the main highway with signs. If you have ever seen pictures in calanders and travel books, it looks exactly like that. Amazing scenic view!!!

You will see many taro plantations on the waterland. Nice view of the valley.

Well worth the stop to have a look around and get some nice photos. It's best to get there before the droves of tourists come racing up and down the road.

This is a great view of the valley and the taro fields. You will have a hard time finding another spot that you can just stop your car and look over.

This is our first visit in May and it seems like there were more people checking out the overlook than ever. Worth the stop, it's quick and easy.

Stopped here after a thunderstorm, and loved the clear crisp views of Hanalei village and taro farms and Bali Hai mountains in the backdrop

Good view point. Gravel extension to pullout area would be nice. Explanation of fields and history of taro farms. Some travelers don't understand efficient parking.

A small but gorgeous outlook at the top of the hill near Princeville. Often several rainbows can be seen from this viewpoint near one of the wettest places on the planet! It is just off the main highway and best accessed when driving from Hanalei.

The Hanalei National Wildlife Refuge offers a remarkable combination of human industry (taro farming) and wildlife viewing. Taro fields, nestled in a breathtakingly beautiful valley, provide feeding grounds to an array of endangered birds including the Common Gallinule, Hawaiian Coot, Hawaiian Duck, Nene (Hawaiian goose), and Pacific Golden Plover, to name a few. The birds, feeding in and around the... More
