For the shopping, I wouldn't really bother coming here unless you want something in particular from the supermarket. The entertainment is great though. We went to the hula and fire dancing show that they have every monday, as well as a culinary festival that they hold on a Tuesday. This involved stalls from various companies around the island, selling the... More

Several tips... -like other reviews, there are not many stores here. The ones that are here are pretty high end, Tommy Bahama, Jams World, Oasis Lifestyle but there is also HIC (hawaiian island creations) and a Hulakai retail and rental facility, definitely affordable. The rental place is much cheaper than renting at the beach!! -Foodland is amazing. A little pricey,... More

We stayed at the Mauna Lani resort and took other posters' advice to stop by the Foodland Farms at the Shops at Mauna Lani for breakfast food. We were pleasantly surprised by their bakery selection, and their prices on souvenirs was lower than anywhere on the island - even Walmart! We even came by for ice cream one evening. On... More

Very picturesque. Nice ambience, excellent places to shop, walk or just window shopping. Nice people from all over the world. Will be back.

We were visiting the Shops at Mauna Lani last week and had read about the FREE hula shows that this shopping center sponsor every Monday and Thursday night at 7:00pm so we went to check it out. We stopped at Ruth Chris's for appetizers first (great) and then sat down at the center court to watch this show. This was... More

Sorry to say there aren't many shops here. Not sure why this particular shopping center has problems keeping the units full. The things that seem to stay year after year are the grocery store, Ruth Chris steak house and Tommy Bahamas. The shops at Mauna Lani do offer a free show, usually hula, that is worth the visit.

Let me preface by saying, there is NOT a lot of fine dining on the South Kohala Coast. You'll find a couple restaurants at Mauna Lani and a handful at Waikoloa Beach. But that's it. Of the places we ate, the best meal we had was at Tommy Bahama's. I was a bit surprised given that it is a chain.... More

There are some nice eateries here, but I went right after a large breakfast, so I did not eat anything while there. The shops are nice, a good collection of apparel, from bikinis to evening wear... nice stuff, not the usual touristy cheap stuff you might find in some of the Alii Drive, Kona shops. There are some beautiful gallery... More

We mainly went here for the grocery store -- at least once per day! This is a well equipped store with everything a tourist wants -- lots of grab and go food, pre-packaged snacks, beer, wine, and friendly staff. Give them a phone number right off the bat when checking in and you become a "valued customer" -- the prices... More

The Foodland Farms Grocery store was cheaper than going to Kona! Mauna Loa Macadamia nuts were on sale cheaper than WalMart! Beer is very reasonable also. I've found this grocery store to be a convenient, inexpensive alternative to the hotel food prices when I want snacks, breakfast or lunch on my own. There was also free entertainment both times I...
