We were visiting the Shops at Mauna Lani last week and had read about the FREE hula shows that this shopping center sponsor every Monday and Thursday night at 7:00pm so we went to check it out. We stopped at Ruth Chris's for appetizers first (great) and then sat down at the center court to watch this show. This was... More

Sorry to say there aren't many shops here. Not sure why this particular shopping center has problems keeping the units full. The things that seem to stay year after year are the grocery store, Ruth Chris steak house and Tommy Bahamas. The shops at Mauna Lani do offer a free show, usually hula, that is worth the visit.

Let me preface by saying, there is NOT a lot of fine dining on the South Kohala Coast. You'll find a couple restaurants at Mauna Lani and a handful at Waikoloa Beach. But that's it. Of the places we ate, the best meal we had was at Tommy Bahama's. I was a bit surprised given that it is a chain.... More

There are some nice eateries here, but I went right after a large breakfast, so I did not eat anything while there. The shops are nice, a good collection of apparel, from bikinis to evening wear... nice stuff, not the usual touristy cheap stuff you might find in some of the Alii Drive, Kona shops. There are some beautiful gallery... More

We mainly went here for the grocery store -- at least once per day! This is a well equipped store with everything a tourist wants -- lots of grab and go food, pre-packaged snacks, beer, wine, and friendly staff. Give them a phone number right off the bat when checking in and you become a "valued customer" -- the prices... More

The Foodland Farms Grocery store was cheaper than going to Kona! Mauna Loa Macadamia nuts were on sale cheaper than WalMart! Beer is very reasonable also. I've found this grocery store to be a convenient, inexpensive alternative to the hotel food prices when I want snacks, breakfast or lunch on my own. There was also free entertainment both times I... The supermarket at this mail us considerably cheaper than the one at the queens mall so if you have a car you should come here instead. I was there on the right days to see the shows.

We had heard that The Shops at Mauna Lani was having pictures with Santa so we decided to come down. We usually drive from Waimea to Kona each year but when we heard that Santa would be so close we couldn't resist. Santa had his own room, with air conditioning (which was a nice surprise) decorated in adorable Hawaiiana charm.... More

Nice high-end shops built in lava area. The ambient music and fountain in this outdoor mall made for a nice place to hang out for a break from driving around the island or a day at the beach. The shops offered quality gift items but were on the pricey side. I was surprised to find Foodland among the shops. It... More
