Our family of 5 really enjoyed our night time manta ray snorkel experience with Kevin, Eric and Alice. Kevin explained the procedure to us snorkelers in an informative and humorous way, and it's clear how much he cares about these majestic creatures. It was unforgettable to see these gentle giants gracefully glide upwards toward us and then flip over, showing... More

My teenage daughters, spouse and I (along with friends) did two excursions with BWDA--a night manta snorkel trip, and a two-tank dive during the day. Both were trip highlights because of the team of Kevin, Tony, Alice and Eric. Friendly, professional and enthusiastic--what more can you want. I think my daughters consider the manta dive one of the highlights of... More

Excellent time for whale watching with sightings from the moment you left dock to coming back. Staff / guide very knowledgable. A definite must when visiting the big island.

Did a 2 tank morning dive and the night Manta Ray dive with Blue Wilderness. Ted was super helpful in the store as was Kevin. Eric and Kevin gave us a great view of whales breaching on the way to our day dive. Water was a bit mucked up from a storm but Kevin was a consciencious dive master. Had... More

Bad place for a manta ray SNORKEL. If you're a diver, this place is fine. We went on the night manta snorkel and the employees told us during the briefing the divers would point their lights up and the surfboard the snorkelers would be handing onto would have a light as well but pointing down. It would be symbiotic relationship... More

Aloha and Mahalo for sharing your Manta experience with us. We are sad to hear you didn't appreciate seeing Csilla Ray on your snorkel trip. Our skilled Instructors always make sure our "Campfire Lightbox" lights are always pointed up and our scuba divers 800 Lumen lights point vertically so as to not blind each other on each dive. This technique... More

Did a 2 tank dive. The wet suit I got was old and had holes in it all over. As a result, I was cold during the dives, and did not enjoy my experience. That said, the staff was friendly, and it was fun diving with them.

You are picked up at a wharf just to the north of the resorts above Kona. You get a wetsuit for flotation and warmth. The team are very nice and give you all a good back ground on what you will be doing and seeing. How it works.....etc. The dive itself is is just off one of the resorts in... More

Blue Wilderness Dive shop located in Queens Market in Waikoloa Beach provides an outstanding experience for those looking to either buy dive gear or participate on one of their dive boats. It all starts with Denise the owner who is military friendly (ie provides you a military discount) and it extends to Tony and Eric who operate the boats and... More

My significant other and I were certified PADI OW in dry suits this past September and it was not a positive experience - zero visibility and 54F water. We wanted to try a dive while in Kona, but we were apprehensive about diving with more experienced people and either holding the others in the group back or being pushed further... More
