A truly amazing experience (Big Island Spectacular). Gregory our pilot was engaging and informative. The views of the volcano were impressive, but please know that depending on the day, you may only see a few lava breakthroughs and not flowing red lava, and it is no longer flowing into the ocean. Regardless, the views are impressive. The waterfalls and inner... More

Pilot Toshi and the staff of Blue Hawaiian Helicopters gave us an amazing tour! The best helicopter tour I've ever had of the Big Island. We watched as Pele broke out a new finger of lava in the Pahoa area and Toshi got us down perfectly to see the hot lava inside a skylight in one of the craters. "Skimpy"... More

This was an amazing trip....very expensive, but a memory that will last a lifetime. If you have the cash, do the Big Island Spectacular. Shane was our pilot - knowledgeable, friendly, professional. The music adds to the dramatic views - a very neat experience. Our kids loved being in their first helicopter ride (probably more so than the scenery). It... More

Spend the money and take the all inclusive experience with a waterfall landing. Flying over red hot lava and landing the helicopter in the spray of a waterfall on the same trip is something I can't imagine I could find anywhere else. The scenery is unbelievable and the pilots are awesome! Jason and Greg (we had two trips because of... More

On Aug 19th we had the opportunity to fly on Blue Hawaiian again. The 2 hour Big Island Spectacular with Noah our pilot was amazing! We got up close to lava flows and Kilauea vent. Saw breathtaking waterfalls and the coast line that you can't see except from the air. Expensive, yes... but a once in a lifetime experience!

This was the single best thing we did during our ten day visit to the Big Island and Maui. from the minute we arrived until we left, the professional staff made us comfortable and excited for the experience. Our pilot Scott was at the top of his game and made everybody on the chopper feel part of the experience. The... More

truly an activity not to be missed while on the Big Island and even if it is costly one, save for it and then shell out the money for the Spectacular tour including the waterfall landing. Flight over the volcano was cool (hot might be a better word given the lava flows we saw), waterfall landing was spectacular, pilot was... More

The flight starts off rather slow as you traverse the barren, lava rock strewn dry side of the volcano. You then head to the active volcano craters. We were able to see bubbling lava in a crater and a rather sizeable lava flow. In other areas we saw where lava had set the edge of the forest on fire. The... More

A wonderful way to see the Kohala Coast. Seeing the coast line and falls from the perspective of a helicopter is spectacular.
