There are so many great beaches in South Kohala area that anywhere else I'd rank this a good or great. Plenty of shade on this long cresent beach. The sand is not soft because the grains are on the larger side. The snorkling is poor unless you go out about 300 yards to clearer water, but if you do you'll... More

We visited Waikoloa during May and enjoyed the beach. Went there to see the turtles and was not disappointed; we saw several on each of two visits. Great place to snorkel. Not crowded at that time of year. Nice shaded beach on side near new Lava Lava Club. More

FREE, Beautify, Great Sunsets, and did I mention its beautiful? "A" Bay as it is called by the locals is a great place to chill out, relax and enjoy one of the best sunsets of your life. Plus, if you love to go surfing, the place offers a few nice peaks during the winter months --- just watch out for... More

this beach is interesting how it is a finger of sand (coarse kind though) that sits between an old fish pond and the ocean. it is fun to watch kite and wind surfers here. always seems to be blowing here. really nice bathrooms :) More

We were told this beach was the place for the perfect sunset, but we found it to be a little cluttered. Go on down to Beach 69 between 71 & 73 mile marker. Much much nicer More

Great place for taking sunset photos. Saw a sea turtle. Bleached coral on the beach was really unusual. More

The part of the beach around the hotels is by no means the prettiest beach in Hawaii -- the beach isn't very big but the water is quite pretty. The area has a bit of boat traffic, so you need to be careful when swimming & snorkeling. We saw a sea turtle basking in the sun on the rocks at... More

This beach has pretty good snorkeling including plenty of turtles. The bay protects from most water movement. You'll need to wear sandals if you walk around as the sand isn't very soft. There are canoes and stuff to rent. Plenty of shade trees. More

We loved coming here and watching all the people, boats, etc. Attached to a large hotel so many people, and buses were dropping off people here. It didn't seem overly crowded though. There are lounge chairs laying around. We could walk 15 feet or more out and still be waist high! Our 5 year old loved it! More
