This bay is very quiet and calm; no big waves while we were there. It is near the Marriott hotel but open to the public. There are palm trees for shade, lawn chairs to stretch out in, showers, and bathrooms. We saw feral cats and mongeese. The waters are very calm and warm to swim around in. We also tried... More

A'bay is a place we go each time we are staying on the Island. The beach is calm compared to other beaches in the area. There are many different water sports to be done here. There is a glass bottom boat that takes people, there are water bicycles, snorkel equipment, snack bar (all for a price) and lounge chairs (first... More

Lots to do at this beach with rentals available for water sports and boat rides. Water was very clear and calm in the morning, though the wind picks up in the afternoon. Nice snorkeling on both ends of the beach. It gets a bit crowded mid-day. Pretty scenery and easy access from Waikaloa Resort.

This is a beautiful beach with salt and pepper sand. There is plenty of trees on the beach which provide shade. There is a fish pond on the landward side of the beach where you can watch various types of fish jump. The snorkeling here was OK. There is a good number of fish and some good coral in front... More

We had our 25th wedding renewal a little south of Lava Lava. The beach was quiet and the sunset was amazing.

Uncrowded beach, nice shade trees when you need it! A few rocks when you enter, so watch your step. Good snorkeling, saw many turtles.

We spent a great deal of time here snorkeling, swimming, and relaxing. This beach has sun, shade, turtles, the Lava Lava Beach Club, and just the right amount of people. A great choice walking distance from the condo that we rented at Kolea!

We were here yesterday! Water temperature was perfect and water was calm. If you go early enough, there are no crowds (later in the afternoon is different story). We saw 8 sea turtles and they came right up to us! It can get a bit rocky but there are lots of areas where there it is very sandy and great... More
