Water was very murky, saw only a few fish - maybe it was the time of day or wind stirring up the water - had been here a few years ago and was much better snorkeling..Free parking and bathrooms though so this was nice. Saw way more fish and turtles further north at Mauna lani Resort area, and then way... More

This beach is referred to as "A Bay" and is easily accessible with a large free parking lot. There is a public bathroom. It connects (north end) to the Marriott resort beach, so you can rent cabanas there and they have a snack shack there as well. In addition they rent kayaks, paddle boards, snorkel gear, etc. The glass bottom... More

Hubs and I stopped for a beautiful Hawaiian sunset and weren't disappointed! The bay is big with lots of room for families and swimmers. As my trusty guide book suggested, this is a hard place not to be able to get professional looking sunset photos!!! Gorgeous fishpond behind the bay.., Live music in the background from Lava Lava and a... More

Everyone raved about the snorkeling here and not to worry about waves. Perhaps we just got unlucky but the visibility was awful. Super murky. Waves were a pain. Tried a couple different areas in the bay but no joy. There were some fish but just basic common ones. If I went back maybe it would be better but given the... More

A Bay is easy to get to from Kailua Kona as ~20 miles north. If you have the Blue Hawaiian Book for the Big Island it provides perfect directions and information. From the parking lot there is a short walk to A Bay which has restrooms, large sandy beach, and free (yes I said free) loungers. We stayed on the... More

Really liked the convenience to parking and the Waikoloa resort area. Cats living in the trees next to parking lot! (They appear well taken care of). Sand beach was clean and Lava Club next door was good for drinks.

You don't have to pay $$$ to dine at Lava Lava Beach Club to have the same sunset view and bring your own little picnic or drink of choice. Follow the signs from the highway to A Bay (through Queen's / King's Marketplace) and take a left like you're going to Lava Lava Beach Club. Park in the lot and... More

Walking distance from Waikoloa resorts or about 5 minutes drive from resorts. Beautiful, serene beach with different blue colors of the water. Has lounge chairs available and can have a picnic by the beach.
