This is a beautiful beach with salt and pepper sand. There is plenty of trees on the beach which provide shade. There is a fish pond on the landward side of the beach where you can watch various types of fish jump. The snorkeling here was OK. There is a good number of fish and some good coral in front... More

I have boys who don't sit at the beach so we took a long hike up the trail north of the beach and explore the tide pools. My older parents found a great place to relax under the trees. Not the best sand but a very pretty spot to swim and hang out.LavaLava beach club there to have a sunset cocktail.Good parking... We had our 25th wedding renewal a little south of Lava Lava. The beach was quiet and the sunset was amazing.

Uncrowded beach, nice shade trees when you need it! A few rocks when you enter, so watch your step. Good snorkeling, saw many turtles.

We spent a great deal of time here snorkeling, swimming, and relaxing. This beach has sun, shade, turtles, the Lava Lava Beach Club, and just the right amount of people. A great choice walking distance from the condo that we rented at Kolea!

The beach is beautiful with many shade trees!! There are not many beaches with sand so this would be the one to hang out on!! Lava lava restruant is beside it so you can walk over for lunch and drinks.

We were here yesterday! Water temperature was perfect and water was calm. If you go early enough, there are no crowds (later in the afternoon is different story). We saw 8 sea turtles and they came right up to us! It can get a bit rocky but there are lots of areas where there it is very sandy and great... More

I love the shade trees and the view but not the rocky beach or floor of ocean. Not great for sunbathing. I think this would be a better place for snorkeling.

We stayed in the Marriott hotel so this beach is right in front. There are ponds before you get to this beach if you are coming from the hotel. There is also beach access if you are not staying in the nearby hotels. Just follow the signs. Parking is free. There are beach chairs that are scattered around that is... More

We enjoyed walking on the beach and looking for turtles. The salt & pepper sand is interesting to see. The water is not very clear, There are amazing beaches with clear, blue water a short drive away, so I wouldn't recommend spending your swimming time here if you have transportation to other beaches.
