"A Bay", as it is known to locals, is an average spot to go into the water...we found it buggy, and the water was very dirty, compared to other areas we visited.....the Lava Lava Beach Club (restaurant) looked like a nice spot, adjacent to this beach....there was a wedding going on as the sun was setting...quite beautiful

We stayed at the Marriott so this beach was right in front of our hotel. The water was amazingly warm and the beach very nice and sandy. Great for cooling off. We snorkeled here a couple times with mixed results. The vis is much better once you get out aways from shore. The far edges of the bay offer better... More

If you are staying in Kohala area, go see the sunset at Anaeho'omalu(A-bay) beach!! Four years ago when we visited, the middle part of the beach had gone totally due to a huge hurricane. But this time we found out that it has been restored. My kids are so happy to see the same cat(?) behind the toilet again....

Go for kua bay. Beach is much more beautiful. Incomparable sand, surf, plus a spectacular view. A-Bay does not compare.

I'm being nice. I don't want to say Anaehoomalu is poor or terrible, but go 10 minutes up the road to Hapuna Beach and you'll see there is no comparison.

This beach was great. The sand was clean, the beach was large, and the water was extremely welcoming. It was one of our favorite little spots to enjoy the ocean and sun.

Anaehoomalu Bay (commonly known as "A-Bay") is a terrific beach in Waikoloa. A-Bay boasts clear, calm water and is perfect for most water sports. Because A-Bay is open to the public and is directly next to the Waikoloa Marriott, this beach is perfect for families and for people who enjoy snorkeling, windsurfing, swimming and paddle boarding. The resorts provide beach... More

Really nice beach with plenty of sand. Lots of activities start from here like whale watching and snorkeling trips. Good facilities with showers and bathrooms.
