This was a real gem. You have to swim straight out about 200 meters and the visibility gets much better. You'll see all kinds of beautiful coral formations and turtles munching. The best time I found is between 8-9:30 a.m. during my visit in April, when there's a lull (shift) in wind direction. This isn't as teaming with live as... More

Great spot to paddle board, kayak or swim when calm, which is more often than not. There is an Ocean Sports hut on the beach that has snorkel gear, kayaks and paddle boards for rent. You can also book a glass bottom boat tour from what I remember, although we did not try that. The employees weren't very friendly, but have... More

The chairs are available for anyone to use on this public beach park. We rented a Cabana and did the Aloha Day Special provided by Ocean Sports. Got to use the beach toys, kayaks paddle boards and could have done more!

Attempted to snorkel here with my husband and we had to leave three feet into our swim out since we both cut ourselves on the rocky floor. The viability was too poor to see the rocks before we attempted to snorkel. The beach was pretty crowded with lots of people enjoying the calm water.

Depending on what you are looking for this could be a great beach for you. We like to snorkel so it was no good for us. This is a huge sandy beach that is calm, with free loungers (get there early to get one, before 10 am). I could see this as a great beach for families with children who... More

We spent a couple of hours here one afternoon before sunset. It was close to the Waikoloa Village and we enjoyed swimming and watching the sun go down. The children also liked watching locals paddle at the canoe club. There were many feral cats that are cared for by a local group and our children enjoyed watching the cats play.... More

The part of this beach that we went to was at our resort, the Marriott. It had white sand, but it also had a lot of rocks in the water. We didn't go in very far, but a lot of people were coming out with cuts on themselves. It can get pretty crowded as well, but it's a great place... More

The beach is very beautiful and the water is very calm. You can go with kids with no worries. The coconut trees provide natural shadow, and you can feel a wonderful breeze. There are bathrooms at the beach and you can park your car for free nearby. Part of the beach is sandy and other part is rocky, prefer the sand... More

This was the first beach we went to on the BI. We are used to Maui beaches and this one was less than impressive. The sand is rough and not so nice. Not as pretty as I'd expected. No waves for the kids to play in. We did enjoy the lagoon behind the beach.
