We stopped at the Volcano Winery on our way to Hilo. We had seen Hawaiian wine at a store and wanted to know more about them. You have a choice of how many wines you want to taste, and pay accordingly. We opted for the premium package that included the dessert wines. ($8.00) We were given 7 wines to taste,... More

Stopped in on a rainy day with our 2 kids. The ladies were so friendly to both us and our kids. (Which after visiting wineries around the world is so rare.) A big bonus was the wine, very unique and worth the stop. We are so glad we went and are eveb happier we are staying close by so we... More

So there were 4 people being served when we arrived. The woman serving said she'd be starting a new tasting in a few minutes and we could browse while we waited. Well, we did. Wait that is. One couple left, so it was the one woman serving/chatting with the remaining couple, and another worker was busy doing something. I can... More

First, I would like to thank all Trip Advisor respondents for their feedback. We can only improve with good feedback. Next, I would like to apologize to the couple who we did not properly serve. This is not a typical way we treat our customers. Often, we have customers who come from the National Park who are chilled from the... More

Volcano Winery offers a premium tasting ( I think it was $8 or $9) and I later saw a coupon for a free tasting in one of the tourism magazines. There are some unique offerings here worth checking out.

The staff was really great and very friendly. The wines were a little sweet for my taste but not bad wines. Did a tasting & bought a glass to drink outside in their picnic area. You can do a $5 or $8 tasting or purchase a glass of wine for about $7. they also have cheese & crackers for purchase.... More

we visited the winery after leaving Volcanoes Nat'l Park and am glad we did. for $5, you can taste the majority of their wines and being i'm a fan of sweeter wines, i was of course delighted with most of them. it's not often you can say you've visited a winery located on a volcano so why not check it... We did the wine tasting for $8 per person from dry to sweet. The Pinot Noir was not available since it was out of stock. All of the wines were way too sweet, but it was sort of cool that there is a winery near Kilauea! We bought a bunch of souvenirs but no wine. Even the white 'dry' wine... More

I liked that they had the Kauai cigars (although they are rolled in Nicarauga, the leaf is local) and they had an assortment of wines for my wife. The elevation is up there (near 4,000 ft) so bring a jacket or something. We picked up a couple of bottles and a few gift cigars. It is out of the way... More

Our main focus was to see the volcano and doing some hiking in the area. Found this winery when we were looking some other unique places on this side of the island. Glad we did. The staff was knowledge and great to visit with during our wine tasting. The wines were unique and were tailor to the region. Nice area... More

We stopped here on our way to Kilauea and had a great time. We did the premium wine tasting which was $8 and enjoyed all the wines. The staff was friendly and knowledgable, and they have lots of interesting stories to share about creating wine and tea on a volcano. Most, if not all of their wines are on the... More
