We first stopped at Volcano Winery four or five years ago. Things have certainly changed since then! The first time we were the only couple in there, this time we had to wait for space at the bar for a tasting! As a whole, their wines are good. Not fabulous, but good. They are nice souvenirs of your trip. Their... More

If you have 30 minutes to spare and are a wine lover I would suggest making the minor detour to visit here. We did the full tasting which I believe was under $10 and is the one to do to do as it is the one with the tea infused wine, the best and most unique of their wines. Overall... More

My fiance and I visited the winery before a birthday dinner and we had an absolute blast. First off Del took us on a short tour of the grounds and was extremely friendly and answered all our questions even though we aren't big into wine. He had lots of cool information to share and we learned a lot...make sure to... More

While you don't normally expect to visit a winery in Hawaii, a friend recommended we check it out. We were so glad we did! The staff was friendly and knowledgable, the gift shop outstanding, and samplings very good. We took a short tour of the vineyard and enjoyed learning the types of grapes that do well in that area. Highway... More

Grapes don't want to grow here. Not a good place for grape wine. The stuff flavoured with local fruits is better, but still not really nice. If you value "unpretentious" and "friendly", they've got it in spades. Just by a t-shirt or jewelry instead of wine. They offer a food tray, which looked like a huge supermarket plastic tray of... I usually approach small local flavor wineries with a note of caution. I generally find their wines to be more gimmick than substance. Fortunately, Volcano Winery does not fit within that reference. I was attracted more to the reds than whites and bought a couple of their pinots. I was also very interested in their estate red, but just wasn't... More

We really like the Symphony Dry and the tastings are fun. We did the standard tasting and felt it sufficient. Otherwise, you can just visit the little retail shop and there are no tours. This is an unpretentious wine experience. There is a charge for tastings.

We were staying in the volcano park and read about the winery. Each day we wanted to go and check it out but our exploring always had us running late for their 5:30 closing time. On our way back from Waipi'o Valley we decided to call and see if they would be open any later as we knew we were... More

Some are made from grapes, while others are from other fruits. All that I tasted were good. Don't expect any "big" wines, though; the terroir doesn't really lend itself to that. I am not really a white wine person, but I did enjoy what they have on offer. Great service as well! The parking lot is apparently built partially over... More
