These gardens are beautiful. Simply stunning. There is so much to look at and seeing the sea at the bottom just magical. I loved spotting tiny frogs and geckos in amongst the plants!

When you first enter this garden, you are taken back by the amount of care and detail that has been put into the grounds. Everywhere you look your senses are overwhelmed. The greenery is lush and thick and every plant is clearly marked. We were amazed by the size of the trees and all the beautiful flowers. There are multiple... More

This is lush, beautiful, and carefully maintained. Steep walk down to the gardens and back up, but well worth it. Gorgeous flowers, wonderfully planned and arranged, magnificent waterfall, and beautiful views. There are helpful staff members along the way to guide you. Gift shop has some lovely plants, perfumes, and garden themed items. Bring water--it gets hot down in the... More

What a great place to visit. 30 minutes outside of Hilo along the scenic route North of Hilo - is this gem of a place. A steep walk down under the shaded trees lookig at beautiful flowers and shrubs to spetacular views of the bay. A great stop off is the trail to the cascading waterfalls. The walk down is... More

This is a OMG beautiful place. Allow at least 1-1/2 hrs. Make sure you have water with you, the walk down is easy, it's the up part that you'll need the water. I think you can pay for a golf cart ride back to the parking lot.

If you like botanical gardens this shouldn't be missed even though it is a way off the beaten path. One of the nicest tropical botanical gardens we've been to. We've seen gardens on Kauai, Maui and Oahu. This is one of the best and it's near an ocean setting with waterfalls.

This botanical garden was lovingly planned and is maintained very well. The garden paths take you from one corner to the other, with so many different flowering plants and trees. The ocean view is soothing.

Located 8 or so miles north of Hilo on the scenic drive overlooking Onomea Bay, this botanical garden is a must see for the whole family. Expect a short but steep hike down and back but not really too much even for the out-of-shape 300 pound Samoan in the crowd. The only spot on the property with air conditioning is... More

Before you even arrive to the botanical garden you know you are entering a beautiful place when you drive from Route 19 down the windy road that takes you to the garden. It immediately makes you feel as though you are driving through a tropical forest paradise. Once at the garden, there is a good amount of parking and the... More

This is an AMAZING botanical exhibit. Even if you don't particularly like looking at flowers. Once a gully just north of Hilo, full of junk cars and washing machines, its owners lovingly carved out a spectacular garden down a ravine to the sea, filling it with luscious tropical plants, the likes you've never seen. See it if you can. It's... More
