We spent several hours walking around the garden. It is beautiful and plants are labeled so you don't have to wonder what they are. The grounds are spacious so finding a quiet place to relax is easy. If you want activity you can zip line or take a tram ride through the plantation. Those things do cost but enjoying the... More

visited in April. $15 per person to look around ~ 1mile long tropical garden. It s location is right by the sea, so the site is very picturous and beautiful. It was a bit difficult to find the place, but the site is well kept and maintained. We completed the loop in ~1hr, and i think the time well spent.... More

Wanting more time than a cruise ship shore excursion offered, we made our own way to the gardens. We had a wonderful few hours there. Yes, you could rush around and see most things in about 90 minutes but if you really want to appreciate the vast number of different trees and flowers and take time to admire the beautiful... More

Don't miss these Gardens! The flowers and plants are well worth the time spent going thru the grounds. It takes about an hour and a half to make it through. There are benches along the way, a beautiful pond with a waterfall, koi fish, flowering waterlillies, an enclosed aviary with huge parrots, an orchid garden and a path that leads... More

we stopped off in mid-April. A lovely park. So many interesting flowers and trees. We took so many photos. The trail is paved and at one point you end up by an ocean inlet so that was a wonderful surprise. It was raining when we were there. They have umbrellas so make sure you take one even if you have... These gardens were a delight with a huge range of stunning exotic plants many in flower. The walk took us around 2 hours with 2 kids (6&9) with plenty of stops for photos. Particularly stunning was the view at the bottom of the shore and coast line. The chick in the gift shop said most days they have 150 people... More

This was such a treat. If you love plants and flowers, this should be on top of your list for the Hilo area. It was lush and green with many wonderful flowering tropical plants in many varieties. There were all kinds of ginger plants and many kinds of anthurium blooming when we went. There is a beautiful waterfall and the... More

And who wouldn't! These gardens are really beautiful. Everywhere you look, it is lush and beautiful. The walk to the ocean is unbelievable and when you get to the ocean it is even more incredible. I don't have enough words to describe this place--waterfalls, ocean, every imaginable tropical flower. Note that there is the possibility of riding back from the... More

We really enjoyed spending a few hours here. The diversity of the plants was amazing. The gardens are well-maintained and many flowers were in bloom. The views along the ocean so the are spectacular. This was an excellent place to take photos. The garden wasn't crowded on the day we went. The trail in one area was steep but the... More
