I saved this for one of the final things I did on my 18 day stay in Hawaii because I knew I wanted to end my trip with something peaceful, easy, and beautiful. I was NOT disappointed! It's difficult to put into words how beautiful this garden is, and I found the price to enter very reasonable for what you... More

This is a gem of a botanical garden that even non-botanists will enjoy. The garden is easily navigable with stunning plant life and amazing Monkeypod Tree canopies overhead. The trail to the sea has some of the best ocean and coastal views we experienced on our 10 day visit to the Big Island.

Such a beautiful garden with winding paths leading to the ocean and a gorgeous harbor. Multiple waterfalls, orchids, anthuriums, trees. We used mosquito repellent before coming here but didn't notice many mosquitos and definitely didn't get bitten. Steep path going down at the beginning of the trail (hence steep path back up!) but they have golf carts to ferry people... More

We visited this site after Rainbow falls park and What's Shakin' for lunch. The 1.5 mile trail was filled with history of the property and hundreds of species of tropical plants, trees and magnificent flowers. Numerous lookout points with views of the ocean and rock formations as well as waterfalls and streams. Our 16 yr old son commented that he... More

We have been to tropical gardens on a number of the islands and this was by far the best! Lots of walking, but absolutely gorgeous and fun! Bring mosquito repellant (we brought our own) and water.

And you may encounter both as you walk through this well-designed garden. Really worth the entrance fee. Such a multitude of exotic plants and trees. So many which we had never seen before. Well laid-out paths and lots places to sit and admire the surroundings.

We love this place! This is our second visit, this time with 8 additional family members (6 kids). Everyone loved this garden. Our kids are amateur photographers and the garden is a beautiful place to take gorgeous pictures. The flowers, birds, waterfalls, etc. are stunning! There is a lot of walking but the paths are well taken care of. This... More

This beautiful garden is in a really lovely little valley that runs right down to the ocean, and it even includes a very pretty waterfall. The range of plants, especially flowering plants, is just incredible and everything is well-labeled so that you know what you're looking at if you're interested. It took us about an hour and a half to... More

This is a beautiful botanical garden just north of Hilo. We stopped by for a few hours and were amazed at the variety of plants and flowers. I especially loved the orchid garden. Everyone in my family enjoyed the visit - even those who don't especially love gardening!

Loved visiting the Botanical Garden- was our second time (had been in 2003) and it is even more beautiful now! The grounds are impeccably kept! Several beautiful "water shots" perfect for pictures- as well as countless "garden" shots! Highly recommend on your trip to Hilo (even if it's a day trip- as it was for us!)
