The Maku'u Farmer's Market is a great way to spend a Sunday morning browsing through the myriad of vendor wares -- from fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, and local hand-made items. Part farmer's market and part flea market, the venue also offers a number of food stands serving breakfast or lunch. Seating and entertainment an added bonus. Enjoy!

I visited this market twice I loved it so much. This is very much a local market. There is a wide variety of produce available at very reasonable prices. There are multiple craft and vendor stands. My favorite is the aged balsamic vinegar!!! It is awesome. Then there are all of the food stands from Indian, Thai, Phillipino, etc. In... More

Fun to go to grab a few fresh things for a salad or fresh fruits. Some breads and fresh flowers also. Not as big as other markets but that's also the charm of this one you can get in and out quick.

This is a great social gathering on Sundays. I met up with a few friends and had a bite to eat. There were lovely plants and fruits. If I was not visiting, I could see myself buying plants here. A great overall experience I would recommend for a Sunday.

This was one of the many farmers markets I visited while vacationing on the Big Island.. This market was just ok.. Cost $1.00 to park and had an okay selection.. My husband said the Indian food he bought was the best he had ever had.. I personally liked the Hilo farmers market on Wednesday better..

Fresh juices, bone carved earrings, and clothes from Nepal! A shuttle will take you so there is no need to rent a car.

This is a clean, well organized fairly large "Farmers Market" although there was more of everything else than there was of "farm". But the fruits and vegetables all looked fresh and priced much better than at Safeway/KTA. A lot of the trinkets are from outside of Hawaii ~ SE Asia (Thailand, Indonesia). There are of course the locals who make... More

There may be many others on the Big Island, but this is the one I visited and it was amazing... Awesome artist of many kinds and all the freshly made foods were delicious! Highly recommend this if you are on Big Island for a visit. I bought jewelry, clothing's, food and great coffee!
