What a fun market! We only had time to stop in passing, but I would love to have spent half a day there sampling the many vendors and gathering supplies for a wonderful homemade dinner. In addition to the bounty of produce and varied food vendors, you'll also find several of the same souvenir vendors from the famous Hilo Market.

Loved the market and the eclectic customers. Plenty to see and the food is good value and plentiful. Have to recommend the roast belly pork, absolutely the best. Lots of 'new age' stuff, friendly vendors, picnic tables and live music. What's not to like. Well worth more than one visit.

I've been to farmer's markets in many places (think Seattle's Pike and others), but this was very enjoyable and surprisingly large and well-attended. It was about 11:00 before we got there on Sunday and we had to park at the very end of the parking grass area. It is free to park and enter and well worth a visit. I... More

It is a wonderful market and the employees are delightful. Lots of people attend and many vendors with a wide variety of merchandise. However, all paths are heavy with one inch stone so one cannot push a regular wheelchair or use a power chair or mobility scooter. It is illegal to have a public venue that is not handicapped accessible.... More

The market is an absolute MUST for visitors. There is every souvenir imaginable, and vendors are happy to bargain. If you come early you can choose from every kind of food. There is always live music playing at the stage, and picnic tables are conveniently placed so you can eat and enjoy the music. It reminds me of the country... More

Get here early, rain or shine, and plan to spend a few hours here. This market has almost gourmet food served from booths and a common area for you to sit and enjoy them. while dining you can hear local music from the stage. After a spot of food, you can walk around and grab anything from a snorkel mask... More

This is my favorite farmer's market on the big island. It has been described as eccentric and that is an apt description. Last time I was there the entertainment was two women singing and laughing just as much as they sang. There is a wide variety of stuff from garage sales to procude to some awesome jewelry. A must for... More

We were so glad we went to this market, and we got there early. This market has everything from handmade crafts like soap, pottery, Hawai'i quilts, jewelry, etc. We bought all we could including gorgeous pen-and-ink drawings of Akaka Falls and some Nenes, which the artist signed for us. We tasted fruits from the surrounding area, including things we had... More

We didn't purchase much but enjoyed this open air market. Lots of variety. we had some great smoothies made out of all natural ingredients. Feels very local. Nice experience.
