They have multiple excursions. I did the Lava Hike (not anything on a boat). I did this hike in early April of 2014. I hike more than the average person; I go about once a month and do half-day to day-long hikes each time and this is one of the hardest hikes I have ever done. First off, its an... More

March 2014.....Not very happy about the Lava not flowing and didn't hear about it until after we booked it, they wanted to only give us $300 back instead of the whole amount even thou it had been only about 4 hours prior that I set it up. the info the guide was telling us was interesting but couldn't hear the... This so called "Tour" (I use this term loosely) is a Rip Off... Don't bother calling to see if there is ACTIVE Lava, they LIE !!! Don't waste your money on this trip, you can see more "BLACK" Lava if you rent a car & go to Hawaii Volcano's National Park. You can spend an Hour or ALL DAY for... More

The first part of the tour is beautiful, calm (at least comparing to the return), with beautiful views, and incredible sunset. We couldn't hear everything the guide was saying because of the noise of the ocean, but he explains quite a lot. It was disappointing not to see any lava. The return is rough. Very rough. I wish they had... More

We originally booked our night time ocean lava tour in August of 2013. In September we got a weird e-mail stating that some of the tours had been canceled and we should contact them. When we called they acted like we were crazy for calling and said the early morning cruises were cancelled but not the night ones and that... More

I get pretty sea sick so was anxious about this boat trip but didn't want to 'wimp out' or disappoint the rest of my party. The trip leaves from a small boat ramp near Pahoa which can be a bit tricky to find so leave plenty of time to get there. They ask you to be there 30 mins ahead... More

We took the sunset lava tour. The lava flowed into the sea in several locations near our boat. Did you know lava floats until it cools? It took about 45 minutes from the launch to get to the flow. We stayed there for about an hour. Seas were rough but not unbearable. We backed in to view the lava and... More

I went on the sunset lava tour. It was a very rough ride out, which I was told it would be. The views from the boat were incredible. I couldn't believe how close we were able to get. As the sun set the lava became more and more vibrant. I got a little sea sick while we were going back... More

We were lucky enough to have a guide all to ourselves on the afternoon we did a lava hike! Our guide Jake was fantastic and informative about the history of the lava flow in the area and current lava movements. We enjoyed his enthusiasm and willingness to show us random features (e.g. old volkswagen) that he thought (correctly) we would... More

This boat ride was one of the most awesome trips we have done. We did the sunrise tour (7th Aug 13). We spent at least 30 minutes at the lava flow - plenty of time. Skipper (Shane) did a great job at getting close to the flow and allowing everyone to get good views and photos.I am not sure what... More
