Come take a full tour of the farm (aprox. 1.5 Hours) or a mini tour (aprox. 20 Minutes) in our roasting room. Either way, it's fun for the whole family and you'll learn a lot about coffee, farming and even a little history. Kids won't even know they're learning because it's so much fun. Before or after your tour, be sure and enjoy a fresh light meal, using locally grown fruits and vegetables. We have one of the best Portuguese Bean soups around.Open Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri from 7:00am-4:30pm, Wed 7:00am - 2:00pm and Sat from 7:00am-4:00pm. Closed Sunday. If you're here on a Saturday, be sure and visit our small farmers' market with big aloha, where you'll find some real treasures, great produce, a wonderful breakfast and some great local music. It truly is Mountain View's Favorite Gathering Place. Every Saturday from 8:00am until 1:00pm. We'd love to meet you! « less

Looking at these other reviews, it's becoming more obvious to me that our timing was off and we missed out on a lot that Hilo Coffee Mill has to offer. I think we were moving through that area quickly to be efficient with our time. We saw the store & met some very nice and helpful staff and bought some... More

After a week on the Kona side of the Island, we then went to the Hilo side, near Punaluu (the black sand beach area). We traveled up and down Volcano Rd, enjoying the sights, one of which was the HIlo Coffee Mill. Staff was very friendly, in the store and on our private tour with Janette. We walked around the... I've taken visitors here on several occasions and they always want to head back on future visits! My friends and I stop here on Saturdays to grab veggies at the farmers' market and grab deliciously fresh breakfasts and coffee. Try the local sweet bread french toast with portuguese sausage! We sit inside or out and we tend to linger for... More

We stopped by here for breakfast one morning, do not expect a large menu, their speciality is coffee! I had waffles and my boyfriend had bagel. Both were delicious! The staff were really nice and helpful. Their knowledge of the goods they sold was outstanding. The gift shop was also great to have a look at and there was also... More

Visited in March 2013. Signed up for the tour - the tour was OK but we did not see any roasting. Our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. The tour covered a variety of vegetation from Coffee, Tea, Coco, Avocado, Papya, and many other. Nice gift shop - worth stopping in for a cup of coffee or some treats... More

Mahalo for visiting Hilo Coffee Mill from Ohio. I'm glad you got to see and learn about some different plants, and more specifically about Hilo Coffee Mill's dedication to the meticulous coffee process. I am sorry you didn't get to see us roasting, but you were able to view our roasting area. We roast only when we have orders to... More

Take a stop here to learn more about the agricultural side of growing coffee. We had a really good lesson from a gentleman who obviously takes great pride in what the locals are producing, Plus their shop has some really great wasabii covered Macedonian nuts and chocolate covered coffee beans.

Stopped here and really learned a lot and had a good time too. They have a little farmers market on Saturday mornings and we stopped to buy a few veggies, but ended up learning about coffee. I wish I had purchased more as it is the best I have ever had. Also, they have plans for a Hawaiian themed carousel... More
