We rented three kayaks from Kona Boys. They provided us with excellent information on safety and how to get the most out of our short trip to Kealekekua Bay. Because of the new rules to preserve the pristine beauty of this bay, one must obey strict rules (no landing on the far side at the Captain Cook monument, for example).... More

Nice, relatively easy kayak trip with great snorkeling! Our guide was very informative. Staff in the shop were helpful. Nice t-shirts.

We were looking to kayak and snorkel in Kealakekua Bay. We were referred to Kona Boys, and couldn't have been happier. John in the shop was friendly and attentive, despite being really busy. He went out of his way to find an option that worked for us--the midday meander. John was also very knowledgeable about the gear, bay, and other... More

We booked the Kona Boys (Chad and AJ) for our first full day on the Big Island! What an awesome start to our trip! We kayaked on a sunny morning across Kealakekua Bay to the Captain Cook Monument and immediately jumped in the pristine water to enjoy our snorkeling. AJ and Chad spent time on the way explaining the enchanting... More

The Kona Boys was by far my favorite experience of my whole time on the big island. Frank and the guys at the shop hooked us up with gear and were so knowledgeable and friendly. Lauren and Chad provided an amazing day on the water full of laughs and history. It is something I will do every time I go... More

Nice mix of kayaking, history, friendly conversation made this an unforgettable day! From Grandma in her 70's to Mom and Dad in their 50's to kids from 16-26, this was an awesome day. We will... A group of friends visiting from Hawaii decided it would be a fun group activity. Being a "semi-local" paddler with prior experience, I wasn't sure how well this would go...our group of 40+ men/women had zero experience (with a fear of the water) to experienced paddler. Well, I have to say we had an AMAZING trip. Kai (our guide) was... More

We took the midday meander with Chad. We kayaked and snorkeled in the Kaelakekua Bay and it was one of our favorite activities while on the Big Island. Chad was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Hawaii. He was an excellent guide while on the kayaks and in the water snorkeling. While kayaking, we saw numerous schools of dolphins and...
