John was great helping us at the counter, prepping us for the trip and AJ was our awesome guide in the water. AJ covered historical, anecdotal and personal aspects of the bay, its flora and fauna, history and geological features. We learned how dolphins sleep, where Pele's fingers reach the furthest ( in kealakekua bay ), why a cross section... More

Kona Boys rock! Just finished a week on the big island and our day with the Kona Boys definitely stands out as a highlight. We did the morning magic tour and we had so much fun!!! The area we kayaked/snorkeled is rich with history which is all very interesting. The wild life is incredible, schools of spinner dolphins circled our kayaks... More

I went on the morning (about 8 am to 1 pm) kayak trip guided by AJ on about August 25th. It was a wonderful experience and AJ was a great guide. The kayaking is in double kayaks and as I am a solo traveller I had the pleasure of kayaking with AJ who is a very nice young fellow. He... More

Great time going out to Captain Cook's monument on the morning paddle. Chad and AJ were our guides, both knowledgeable and friendly. We had 6 other participants. Would definitely recommend to others! We saw lots of fish, and dolphins!

We rented three kayaks from Kona Boys. They provided us with excellent information on safety and how to get the most out of our short trip to Kealekekua Bay. Because of the new rules to preserve the pristine beauty of this bay, one must obey strict rules (no landing on the far side at the Captain Cook monument, for example).... More

We were looking to kayak and snorkel in Kealakekua Bay. We were referred to Kona Boys, and couldn't have been happier. John in the shop was friendly and attentive, despite being really busy. He went out of his way to find an option that worked for us--the midday meander. John was also very knowledgeable about the gear, bay, and other... More

We booked the Kona Boys (Chad and AJ) for our first full day on the Big Island! What an awesome start to our trip! We kayaked on a sunny morning across Kealakekua Bay to the Captain Cook Monument and immediately jumped in the pristine water to enjoy our snorkeling. AJ and Chad spent time on the way explaining the enchanting... More
