My wife and I played a round at Mauna Kea last week. We didn't budget the round into our trip, but had to once I learned of the discounted rates. After 1100 hours rates dropped to $155 and after 1330 hours, rates dropped to $125 a person! Sha-zam! Done and booked a tee time for a few minutes after 1330... More

I knew with the Robert/Reese Jones design to expect a top course, and Mauna Kea lived up to the reputation. The course was arguably the most beautiful, and challenging layout I have ever played. I live in the Naples Florida area, and play year round, so I’ve seen my share of top flight golf courses. The course was in tour... More

Mauna Kea was offering a special that included club rentals. Total price was $225. Other courses charge $50+ to rent clubs, so total cost was nearing $200 for a round. I decided to splurge on Mauna Kea and didn't regret it for a second. I had such a fun round of golf on this stunning course. The course is perfect,... More

Great hotel, fantastic beach (plenty of easy and fabulous snorkeling) and great by the beach/pool Hau Tree restaurant with delicious (and generous) choices of salads, sandwiches and drinks of all sorts (try the Lava Flow: It is a classic of that restaurant and hotel). Also, the Mauna Kea arguably offers the best Luau show on the island. More

This is truly one of the best courses I have played - the recent updating made the course better and tougher (you'll be in a lot of difficult bunkers!). Hapuna is a gentler, less expensive test of golf but both are worth playing and Mauna Kea will certainly be memorable. More

Rees Jones redo of this icon is excellent....new, challenging greens, improved hole layout and beautiful of course. HOWEVER, be certain you want to spend $250.00 a round for a bad experience!! We played on Saturday at 1 PM....No Starter, No Ranger, No Cart Girl. No course information....layout, display, Nada. The group in front of us made us wait every hole... More

I've played Mauna Kea on and off since it opened in the mid-60's and I still consider it to be one off the great courses in the state if not the country. Great views, great test of golf. They've done some work on the course (new bunkers and re-doing a lot of the greens). For a while a few years... More

I played this course before it was "reconditioned", so things might be a little different. I found the course perfection: difficult, but beautiful and in fabulous shape. The famous "water hole" (was #3) is spectacular, and the entire Mauna Kea area is incredibly lovely. Take time to walk around the hotel, and don't miss the beach. More

I played the Mauna Kea resort course in November of 2011. It is, hands down, my favorite course I have played. Every hole on the course is absolutely gorgeous. Besides the scenery, everything about my trip to the course was great. The service was excellent all the way around - beverage cart, pro shop, ect. I played with a rental... More
