This beach is equipped with grills, picnic tables, indoor and outdoor showers and flush toilets. It is protected by a reef and has a large shady and sunny beach. The water is safe and mostly has a sand bottom. Is not crowded and is quiet.

Next to a busy shipping harbor, murky water, larger waves then elsewhere. Skip it and drive around the corner to the best Hawaiian Shave Ice on the Island.

the Spencer Beach is nice to relax, not many people and good for swimming if on other beacher the waves are too high. the service area is also ok, and it is easy for parking. furthermore its only some 100 meters to see a historic place

We stopped in at Spencer Beach Park on our way back from Kohalo Mountains trip to have a picnic lunch. The park has been cleaned up quite a bit over the last couple of years. The water is very calm here, and ideal for letting small children run around and just have fun. There were several families doing just that.... More

Don't come here for the beach! The water tends to be the murkiest on this coast, and the beach itself isn't too thrilling. It is, however, a good spot for a picnic after walking around the adjoining archaeological park.

Local style with lots of shade trees and whales jumping while you also may see snow on Mauna Kea. You can camp and bar- b-q here or have a party in the pavilion right on the Oceans' edge. Snorkeling is great seeing honu (turtles) the sea is calm and a good place for children to safely play and swim. You... More

There's a trail to the left from the second set of bathrooms that takes you about half a mile down from Spencer's to a secluded, nice sandy beach! It's really nice if you don't want a bunch of people around and the sand is soft. Not too wavy and perfect for lil ones!!! Also, there's a tiny cove of black... More

I camped here for something like 3 or 4 nights. I really enjoyed the facilities, which were clean and well maintained. Private showers! Great bathrooms! You can charge your phone in the Pavillion! Pavillon's lights are on until 10 pm! The beach is perfect for youngsters, and just humans who enjoy water in general. This place was packed with families... More
