There's a trail to the left from the second set of bathrooms that takes you about half a mile down from Spencer's to a secluded, nice sandy beach! It's really nice if you don't want a bunch of people around and the sand is soft. Not too wavy and perfect for lil ones!!! Also, there's a tiny cove of black... More

I camped here for something like 3 or 4 nights. I really enjoyed the facilities, which were clean and well maintained. Private showers! Great bathrooms! You can charge your phone in the Pavillion! Pavillon's lights are on until 10 pm! The beach is perfect for youngsters, and just humans who enjoy water in general. This place was packed with families... More

We visited this park late in the evening and were really taken by the pretty little beach The old temple site is well worth a visit as it stands out and the size of it is really surprising There is a visitors centre although it had closed by the time we arrived The camping ground and facilities looked very appealing... This is a perfect location. Sand, mild surf, snorkeling, picnic area, shade, clean restrooms and no crowds. Spencer Beach is very close to the State park of Hapuna where you pay for entry. Spencer is free and superior in what it has to offer.

It is in a protected bay and the waves are tiny, not like the rest of Hawaii. The shore would be perfect for small children. The picnic area is great with big trees and lots of shade. There is a campground there too. No admission fee yet for the cars.

My father took us to to this beach in Waimea after taking us to another just south of here a ways...This was a shorter walk to the beach from parking. Paved roads (rental cars cannot be off roaded), NO FEES. Plenty of shade and picnic tables during the week. Nice facilities/Bathrooms/Showers. etc. NO waves. Water was too murky for me... More

We chose this beach because of the facilities (clean bathrooms are a godsend!). Not to mention that it's not very crowded, and has plenty of shade on too hot days. The water was nice and calm, perfect for my then 3-year-old son. Definitely the kind of beach to just hang out and enjoy the weather and the locals, and dip... More

What we liked was the facilities - lits of picnic tables, shade and nice clean bathrooms and showers. OK clean beach that had been dragged to remove the monthly jellyfish swarm. Not crowded, but not very exciting either. Lots of campers around.

We went to Spencer Beach for a family reunion. The ocean was nice with not many big waves. The beach was perfect to dig and play in. It has nice facilities. We went on a Sunday, and it looked like there were a lot of other families having reunions. Spencer beach also has nice shaded area where we grilled and... More

Not a swim beach. More like a hang out with the locals. Beware of some people that live here more than just a weekend. Check out the shark and whale watch area near by.
