What a stunning way to see the Waipi'o valley!! It is a gorgeous slice of heaven. The waterfalls are a spectacular sight. The owners, wranglers were friendly, helpful and very informative. You see vegetation in this valley that you can't see anywhere else. I would recommend this out-of-the-way adventure on your Big Island. I also recommend stopping at Grandma's in... More

This is a beautiful ride in the Waipio Valley - an excellent way to see a part of the island that would be very hard to experience otherwise. The staff is very friendly and the horses are gentle and easy. I would caution that they didn't have helmets, not even for children. I think that's a major oversight. Also, I... More

We went with family, adult and teenage children. The check in gate was a little hard to find off the main highway but we got on the second time by. Easy check in procedure. You take a van from this area to the Waipi'o valley via a very steep road. Go to the Lookout before or after your ride for... More

We found this trip to be very relaxing with stunning scenery. We both rode growing up, so we are used to being on horses. These horses knew what they were doing and needed no guidance whatsoever - well maybe some encouragement if there was something delicious on the ground. If you want to stop and take a photo, just stop... More

My family did this on July 12. The WOH staging area was easy to find, and best of all fresh macadamia nuts, bananas and passionfruit from the orchard were displayed for guests to sample before the ride. Incredibly beautiful valley; the guided drive down to the valley alone was almost worth the price of admission. Mika and Ronald were our... More

My family has had some really good experiences on horseback riding excursions to downright awful/scary experiences. Because of the bad ones...makes me nervous booking horseback riding but it's something my family loves to do so took a chance. Glad we did! We first got in a special 4x4 van to go down a steep road to get to the valley... More

Mahalo Nui Loa to Sarah & Dava whom were my horse guides in Waipio Valley by horseback; a birthday I will never forget... The guides provided us with good laughs, lots of local knowledge & history, treated the horses with the up most respect and kept everyone safe. The horses were very well tempered and cared for; they all had... More

Waipi'o Valley is spectacular place to ride a horse. Scenic surroundings, with a peaceful stream running through the valley, birds singing, helps one to appreciate the wonders of nature.

we took our son and his fiance and we all had a good time. what made the trip special was that both guides were local, humorous and knowledgeable. we've been on other horseback rides in the area (including a ranch near waimea) but this one was the most enjoyable. the valley is such a special place and it was great...
