If you want a captain and guide who is very knowledgable, friendly and can answer any question about whales... choose Captain Dan. It is one thing to watch whales from the shoreline.... another to be on a boat and up close! Truly spectacular!

The whale-watching trip was great fun. We saw a great many whales, both adults in courting groups and mother-calf pairs, along with lots of spinner porpoises and a green sea turtle. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the boat was small but comfortable, and the whales put on a magnificent show.

Truly wonderful and worth every penny. Love that it wasn't one of those giant boats that are crowded with people. The captain is extremely knowledgable and has interesting stories about whales, other sea animals, and historical Hawaii. He also knows how to find whales! The crew are hard workers and thoughtful about the needs of the passengers. An intimate sea... More

We went out on the mid-day whale watching tour. We saw our first whale within the first 30 minutes. Awesome! We hung out and got to see that whale again when he resurfaced. Unfortunately we didn't see more whales during our tour. We did encounter a pod of spinner dolphins that more than made up for the limited whale sightings.... More

We took our whale watching trip in March 2014. Captain Dan and his crew made the experience even better. Gave us lots of information on what we were going to see. There were so many whales, spouting, breeching really putting on a show. We saw spinner dolphins also. The boat was comfortable, crew was great and there were some simple... More

We booked this trip at the last minute and didn't research costs of any other whale boats. We chose this company based on the experience of the Captain (and their very slick 4 page advertising in a tourism brochure). Very knowledgable Captain and crew. This trip was taken towards the end of March so there were very few whales still... More

Capt. Dan and his crew are great. Very informative and professional. We had a good trip seeing a bunch of whales and a few dolphins. The ride alone is beautiful and the whale sightings are the icing on the cake!

My sister and I were vacationing on the Big Island the last week of February 2014 and wanted to see whales. We learned things about whales that we had not heard before on whale watching excursions from Maui on a previous vacation. We were told about the male whales' singing and actually heard it when they dropped the mic below... More

We took the trip at the end of February, which should be a good time of the year. We did see some whales but were not too lucky with the coming really close to the ship. Overall, we are not sure whether taking a cruise from Maui might be the better option. Nevertheless, the cruise was extremely well organized. Captain... More

Having been cancelled for the whale watch trip Tuesday 2/18/14 due to weather, rescheduled with some effort to Friday 2/21/14 (AM departure time confusion) we missed your boat by about 5 minutes, still talking to the office "manager" on the phone asking for the boat to wait for us. Business is business, I get it, and creating a "Hawaii experience"... More
