This is a great trip, and really worth the price. Capt Dan is a font of information about the whales, their activities and habits, and about whale research. We followed 3 small groups of whales around for a couple of hours, and Capt Dan knows how to anticipate their movements. Very comfortable and enjoyable trip! Capt Dan and his crew... More

Our family of adults had a great time on this trip. Although we saw whales while travelling to dive sites, this tour showed us even more - small groups, individuals and females with calves. We enjoyed the commentary from Captain Dan and all the information that he provided.

We went with my 11yo and 8 yo. Cpt McSweeney has great stories and makes you appreciate these gentle giants with facts, history, and descriptions as you see the whales. Plenty of snacks for kids. We saw many whales at a respectful distance-mothers w calves, escorts so a very lucky trip.

We didn't book our trip to Hawaii with the intention of whale watching but signed up quickly for this tour when we realized we were in season to do so. Captain Dan was recommended by our travel guide and his tour was great! An educator and researcher as much as a business owner - we learned so much from Captain... More

We were on the tour on January 29, 2015 and had a great time. Not only did we see many whales during our pleasant boat tour, we also learned so much from Mr. McSweeney regarding his experiences and whale information in general. We came across a few visitors during our stay on the Big Island that talked about whales but... More

A three hour excursion in early February brought us over a hundred sitings including several spectacular broaches. We saw at least one mother-calf pair, one large male "escort," and a couple male stalkers. More importantly, we were treated to very good live commentary from the the captain and excellent, well-informed responses to our questions from the deck crew. Underway we... More

Everything about this operation was first class. We made reservations from the airport in Seattle. The staff linked us to their web site with very clear directions to the port. Once their the boarding and payment was efficient and simple. The trip to the whales was comfortable and informative. The boat was safe, with viewing options under a cover, on... More

The morning of Jan 13 dawned beautiful. Capt. Dan and his crew are very good at what they do. It was a great experience. These folks know their stuff. We did see humpbacks do what humpbacks like to do. Capt. Dan did an awesome job helping everyone get pictures of their activity. We had 2 schools of spinner dolphins...what fun... More

The second trip for us after one year was a great one again. We were not too lucky with regard to the humpback wales (considering that you currently see them from the coast by just looking long enough at the ocean) but still had a great time. We highly recommend this cruise. For more details, please also have a look... More

Great excursion. 3 hours long. Captain Dan knew where to find the whales and spent a lot of time trailing them, so everyone on the boat got great views. Super clear water. We saw humpbacks, but mostly false killer whales, and then finished off with a podd of spinner dolphins. Everyone was super happy. Skip the dixie cups of water... More
