Beautiful Japanese style gardens. Lovely place to take an easy, slow stroll. Very flat so good if you don't want to hike at all, just a serene walk through a beautiful garden by Hilo Bay. Great place for a picnic!

This is a lovely park on Banyan's Dr. very close to several of the hotels. We walked from our hotel. There were generally people using the park'; walking or jogging.

Pathways were well kept, grounds manicured. This is a well-used park, both by residents and tourists alike, folks were walking, strolling, picnicking, or just plain hanging out at all hours. Breathtakingly beautiful!

I visited this garden yesterday. My friends drove me over from Kona specifically to see the garden. The plan for the site is lovely. The banyan tree is wonderful. Some of the features of this garden need volunteers to maintain more carefully. The water in all the pools appeared brackish and unable to maintain life. Vandals have marked the beautiful... More

This garden is so much better to see in person then in photos. the view you get of the shore line, the pagodas, the bridges and trees are just lovely so peaceful along with a tea house.

Well worth a visit if you are in Hilo. This is all the things that have been described here. Pleasant walk, view. We stayed at the Hilo Hawaiian, which was very close.

Bordered by Hilo Bay and connected to the beautiful Coconut Island, Liliuokalani Gardens encompass a large, meandering tide pool spanned by commemorative-photo-worthy bridges, and surrounded by a variety of beautiful trees. As ten year residents, we return to Liliuokalani gardens almost weekly, and we never tire of the tropical feeling, the smell of the salt sea air, and the view... More

Great family park and nice to walk around and/or have a picnic on the lawn. Many people walk the park every day along the outside path. So if you want to just enjoy the scenery take the inside paths over the little bridges and stepping stone paths. Located just past the hotels on Banyan Drive. Also next to Moku Ola... More

Such a beautiful garden and so glad that we accidentally stumbled upon it on our way back to Hilo. The peaceful gardens are home to many kinds of trees and plants. We especially loved the bamboo forest. Great place for a picnic or mid-afternoon tea and mocha break!

Peaceful, quiet. Just a place for a stroll or to sit and read or talk with your mate. We came back over and over during our too short visit to Hawaii. We were actually there in 2008, but the pull down doesn't go back that far. Sorry if this isn't current.
