seemed to be frequently visited by locals and tourists, nice shade, picnic areas. Part of the path was flooded but easily waded through or avoided. More

The gardens are pretty but there is no color, no flowers, only lots of greenery and water. I was expecting more from a Hawaiian garden. More

We particularly loved that big banyan tree by the entrance of the park and the mango tree towards east... More

I have to believe that the Japanese Garden has seen better days, but the adjacent area that let's you get a view on Hilo is great. More

This is where you'll find the locals taking there morning walk early each day (6 - 7 a.m.). It offers a beautiful view of the ocean along with landscaped gardens and ponds. More

A great place to relax, have a picnic, people watch, swim, rent a canoe, and take a walk. This is what I imagine when I think of the Big Island. More

The Queen Liliuokalani Gardens are a little run down with overgrown paths and poor water quality and levels in the pools and streams. However, the plants are lovely and a good variety, including the Cup of Gold vine which is in flower from March to May. There are lots of stray cats around and I am sure that they have... More

The park is a pretty and serene park. Nice Asian feel to the park, overseeing the lake accross. It is adjacent to the Castle Hilo Hotel. If you are in the area, I do reccomend a stop by. The park is seen in published Hawaiian books and magazines. Locals take advantage of the park to jog and walk in the... More
