The description up-sells this place. It’s a park with a few well placed japanese things. A nice place for a quick walk.

Tranquil and picturesque gardens. This was a unexpected delight - as I was traveling with a friend and we were seeking out Coconut island. She remembers her grandmother taking her there to play as as a child. We were both delighted to find Coconut Island within this gem of a park. It was pouring rain most of the time we... More

We stayed at a neighboring hotel and happened to stop into the gardens during our walk. It reminded me a little bit of the Japanese Tea Garden in San Francisco - but this happened to be free and just as gorgeous. The gardens are well maintained and clean with what seemed to be easy parking when we were there during... More

Back in May I was in Hilo and my husband made sure I came to the Park. We ended up getting married in this park. Very beautiful and overlooks the bay. The bridges are so quaint and great for pictures.

Liliuokalani Gardens is a sprawling park near the bay in Hilo. It is home to numerous pools and bridges, towering banyan trees and lush floral growth. The park has a quiet feel, and walking around is relaxing. Local people are often in the park, or on their way to fish nearby. We like to stop by for a stroll when... More

We have visited the Liliuokalani Gardens many times and I always think of it as something almost unreal. All of the interesting things to see, incites your imagination. The builder of this garden had a lot of patience to put all of the items in such a manner to create something so lovely.

A mellow japanese garden setting. Walking path surrounds gardens. Stray off to banyan drive, a drive or walk along a banyan tree lined strip. Hotels located along banyan drive all have oceanfront access. Banyan trees have been named in honor of famous people.

Very lovely and quiet. Many ducks and examples of oriental bridges and lanterns. Nice walking trail. Very relaxing. A good place for a time out.
