When you think Japanese landscape you think small enclosed area. This garden is filled with small ponds, carefully placed rocks, small walkways. Even the walkways are edged with rock so that it melds with the lawn. Wish it hadn;t been pouring rain because I would have liked to spend more time there

Looking for a beautiful Japanese garden park to wonder through, picnic or even to wed? This is definitely the place. It sits along the Hilo Bay overlooking downtown Hilo. The park itself has beautiful water ponds with Lilly pads, bridges, pagodas, and lush greenery foliage surrounding the park. Great bike and walking path. A must see if you appreciate Japanese... If you like Japanese gardens, or any well maintained park, stop here. Right near the two major hotels, this park is immaculately kept and the pride of Hilo. Right on Hilo Bay, beautiful photography of Mauna Kea is at your finger tips, as well as photos of the bay itself. Used by locals for walking, kerp to the left because... More

This park in Hilo is such a great place! I took my dog and we walked around the park, used the foot bridges and sat next to the large banyan trees. There's also some good snorkling near the park as well!

This area is a picturesque spot for a lovely walk. It is a place to find some peace and quiet before or after you begin your busy day and a great spot to take some beautiful photographs.

We were staying not too far from here and walked up one morning. The place is beautiful and easily fills in an hour People super friendly - we were obviously tourists (with the big camera) and a few locals stopped us to chat ... asking us where we were from and telling us their stories of coming to Hawaii.
